So after all the flying and....more flying. Hiccup asked us if we wanted to stay for the night. We all nodded in agreement. Cloudjumper followed Valka everywhere, And she didn't mind. Stoick was still getting used to a dragon around him without the urge to hit it. And Gobber, well, was very happy. During dinner he would slip a piece of fish or mutton behind the chair and Grump would eat it greedily.
"So Hiccup. Would you ever consider going back to Berk?" Stoick dropped the question. Hiccup's whole body seemed to freeze, and his eyes fell to Toothless. Valka moved her hand under the table and gripped Stoick's.
"I think it's a little too soon darling." Valka whispered. Stoick listened and realised that maybe it was to soon to ask him to come back.
"Sorry Hiccup. I just want you to realise that we as your parents, love you and will do anything to help you."
"I know. But I belong here. This is my home, and here I'll stay." Hiccup stood up and gestured to all the sleeping dragons, and all his inventions, and everything that he loved.
"We understand." Valka said calmly, a hint of sadness was obvious in her voice.
"Well! I'm off to bed!" Gobber broke the awkward silence, causing Toothless to jump. Hiccup nodded and then disappeared up a flight of stairs to his bedroom. Stoick stood up and made his way over to a makeshift bed. Valka followed and they both lied down. However, Valka couldn't get too sleep. She had to many questions running through her head. What if Hiccup never came back? What will Berk think of trained dragons? If Hiccup does agree to come back, will Berk let him in with open arms? She groaned and rubbed her head. What if I told Berk about the whole situation before Stoick or Gobber? She thought about all the ways she could possibly get to Berk. And she landed on one result. She climbed out of bed silently and crept over to Cloudjumper. He was at the entrance of the cave fast asleep when Valka nudged him awake. His yellow eyes flew open and glared at Valka, but then softened when he realised who it was.
"Cmon boy. We are going to Berk to tell them about all of this." She whispered silently as she mounted on. Cloudjumper expanded his wings and took off as silently as possible, flew out of the nest, and into the freezing cold outside. After about three hours of flying, Berk was finally in sight. But they couldn't just fly into Berk, they would be shot at or worse killed! Valka new of a cove about a fifteen minute walk away from behind Gothi's mountain hut. So she guided Cloudjumper around the beeches of Berk until they finally arrived at the cove.
"You stay here and sleep Cloudjumper. Don't leave unless you are threatened. I will be back as soon as possible. I promise!" Valka rubbed Cloudjumper behind his head and then ran off towards Berk.
"Is that.....Valka?" Some questioned as she ran past them. She was searching for one man, Spitlout. Whenever Stoick went away, Gobber would be left in charge or herself. But if Stoick took Gobber, than Spitlout would be in charge alongside Valka.
"Spitlout!!" She shouted when she spotted him at the forge.
"Valka? Valka!! Am I glad to see you! Where is Stoick?" Spitlout gave Valka a quick hug (that's tradition) and then asked about Stoick.
"Long story. Which I don't have time for. Call all the elders and important people up to the Great Hall NOW!!" She ordered. Spitlout nodded and jogged over to a large horn, that can be heard from miles away, and blew as hard as he could four times. Doors of houses flew open as people listened to the horn. Valka followed the crowd of that Vikings flooded the Great Hall. She walked up to Stoick's chair and sat down. Vikings gasped at her. Some cheered.
"I'm sorry about getting everyone up at this hour. And I know that you's are all probably wondering where Stoick is. And Gobber. They are both alive and safe on a far away island that we crashed on. But I must get to the point. We were not alone on that island! We met a young man of about twenty and he owns a entire nest full of trained dragons! And I know you hardly believe me now, so I doubt you will believe me when I say this but that man is.......Hiccup." She finished her speech. Everyone was silent as they digested what she had just said.
"Is it true?" Astrid Hofferson spoke up first.
"Yes. He owns and rides a Night Fury. And he gave Gobber a Hotburple. Stoick a Rumblehorn. And...he gave me a Stormcutter. That's how I got here."
"So technical you were right all along. Dragons can be trained!" A female Viking spoke up. Nearly everyone on Berk new that Valka disagreed with all the dragon killing.
"Yes. If you want, I can show you." Valka stood up.
"Yeah! Show us!" Everyone asked. She nodded and jumped down off the stage and ran outside. Vikings watched her as she jumped onto a jutting out rock and made a sharp whistle. Nothing happened. Some started to think that Valka was tricking them. But then suddenly Cloudjumper landed next to Valka. It roared at the Vikings and wrapped its tail around her. Gasps and whispers were heard throughout the entire village, that had now all woken up to the whistle.
"This here is Cloudjumper. He will not hurt you if you don't threaten him." Valka warned them. She then walked through the crowd, with Cloudjumper following, and back into the Great Hall. Cloudjumper made himself comfortable behind Stoick's chair and fell asleep.Valka did more explaining about Hiccup and where he lives, and after another hour of talking she dismissed everyone. Cloudjumper followed her outside and to her house.
"Night, night beautiful boy. You sleep here, and I'll see you in the morning." She whispered to the Stormcutter. Cloudjumper than fell asleep and Valka went inside to bed.
