*Hiccup pov*

I watched as the nargacuga did a backflip, slamming its tail into Toothless head, effortlessly throwing him over the arena and out of my sight before I heard a loud crash.

Hiccup : "TOOTHLESS!!!"

My heart thundered in my chest as I clenched my fists and sprinted out of the door Astrid, Heather, Windshear and Stormfly had just come through, eventually making my way to the surface. I whipped my head around looking for Toothless as i saw the chaos around me, what was left of the arena had collapsed in on itself while some dust was kicked up into the air, Hookfang and Snotlout were running away from the nargacuga while the other rider and there dragons tried to get it's attention, and whatever remained of the dragon hunters were either dead or running away as fast as they could. Eventually my eyes landed on Toothless's limp form, he was laying against a cliff that he had seemingly hit. Quickly running over to him I laid my head against his chest as I tried to listen for a pulse.

*3rd person pov*

Hookfang whipped his head around and shot a stream of flames at Nightshade who sidestepped before lunging forward, Hookfang and Snotlout narrowly dodged by swiftly clamoring onto another cliff that surrounded the arena.

Nightshade : "bad move little wyvern~"

Nightshade lunged up at Hookfang and Snotlout, but before his attack could connect, something slammed into Nightshade's jaw making him flinch and jump back as a small trail of blood now dripped down the side of his face.

Raion : "Bartholomeow now!"

Bartholomeow : "right!"

Quickly running underneath nightshade, Bartholomeow quickly placed a shock trap that buzzed to life, instantly making Nightshade's muscles tense to the point of being completely imobile while Raion swung his greatsword into Nightshades wing arm leaving and large gash in it before following into true charged slash just as the shock trap wore off. Nightshade groaned in pain before quickly trying to bite Raion who barely managed to shove his greatsword between himself and Nightshade's jaws while rolling backwards into an upwards slash to Nightshade's side. In response, Nightshade slammed his tail into Raion who went flying back from the impact and rolled for a moment before once again getting back up and drinking a mega potion to help the pain. Running towards Nightshade, Raion drug his sword on the ground as Nightshade tried to slam his paw down onto Raion who simply shoulder bashed the attack, somehow escaping the blow uninjured before spinning into a wide slash as the others watched on, a mixture of surprise and horror on there faces save for one.

*Hiccup pov*

Hiccup : "please bud, you have to get up! please... "

As I pressed my head against Toothless's chest, straining to hear something- anything that might prove that he's not gone I could hear the sounds of battle and carnage all around me, but they were cut clean through like a sword cutting through paper by one sound. One, singular heart beat. It wasn't much but it was something. Then, out of the corner of my eye I noticed that some of the grass around us was... dying...... Quickly pulling me from that observation was Raion getting slammed into the cliff face next to us, cracking a part of the wall in the process while Raion groaned in pain and seemingly annoyance. Stabbing his sword into the ground he used it to pull himself up and back onto his feet. His eyes quickly darted over to me and Toothless before widening for a moment.
