*Y/n / Strax pov*

Flying high over the ocean around dragons' edge, I barrel rolled through a few clouds, enjoying the feeling of the water sliding off my scales, taking any dirt or grime away with it as I flew higher and faster. I had been flying for a few hours now, loosely circling the edge as I tried to clear my mind... the past few weeks have been a lot... and so I decided to just rest for a few days whilst the riders went and saved another batch of dragons. Some catastrophic quakens, Stormfly had told me, were being used to dig out marble for the hunters to make a "dragon proof" bunker. I of course have serious doubts about just how "dragon proof" it actually is, or rather was. But that's besides the point. The others had also gotten a lead about where Viggo's shipyard was and were currently practicing some drills with Ama on the course we made. Looking down I spotted Fishlegs and Meatlug get smacked by a giant hammer and watched as they proceeded to bounce off of damn near everything in the course, eventually even making it to the end of it where they promptly collapsed with a fist raised, my barely restrained laughter only drowned out by the roar of my jets.

Y/n / Strax : "*snirk* I suppose that's one way of finishing that course."

Flying down to fishlegs hut, I went over to the collection of rocks they usually had on hand and took some reasonably sized pieces of limestone. Ever since Fishlegs and Meatlug had found out I enjoyed sculpting thanks to James, they made sure to keep some extra on hand for me should I wish to make something. The notion brought a smile to my face as I quickly picked through the rocks before flying over to the top of the edge's mountain. Landing, I set about arranging the rocks in various positions, trying to find something that called to me. A certain shape, texture, or color that I could bring out, to make something glorious! As I finally got an idea for something, i heard a small branch break behind me, followed by the sound of two lighter paw prints and the rattle of armor plating. I didn't bother turning, save to face them save for a quick nod to James who returned it.

Y/n / Strax : "why does it feel like whenever I'm about to indulge in my hobby, you three are often not far behind."

Bartholowmeow : "We're just here to make sure you're not causing any trouble valfalk."

James : "*sigh* i tried to tell them about everything i saw with you but-"

Bartholowmeow : "-but, we have to verify everything. We don't need more cases like what happened with the Yian-garuga."

Shooting a mildly irritated look to the cat named Bartholowmeow, I spotted Raion pull out a small book, seemingly the monster hunters guide, and start writing and drawing in it at which my gaze shifted from Rain and his palico to James who shrugged.

James : "What? Not like it's everyday we can study one of the most elusive species of elder dragon."

Returning my gaze back to the limestone, I let out a tired sigh as I started to heat my jets up.

Y/n / Strax : "so be it. Just do not interfere with my sculpting."

James : "didn't even cross my mind."

Letting out another halfhearted sigh, I continued my sculpting, now using my jets to slowly soften the stone while I chiseled and scraped a figure out of the stone. First a wing, then the torso, then another wing followed by a leg, and a head, tail and the other leg. Further refining the shapes, i pulled one of my wings to a spare lump of rock and drastically increased the heat melting it in a matter of minutes before backing off the heat and letting it cool to obsidian and giving it a good smack with my tail to break it into sharp, jagged pieces/ gingerly picking up the obsidian pieces that were longer and thinner, i stuck them in a crown of spikes around the skull and then going down the back and tail. After what had to have been a few hours, I pulled back and examined my work, it was a sculpture of Stormfly in flight with the spines on her tail raised like she was going to shoot something. Excellent. With a proud smile on my face, I suddenly slumped down as a wave of exhaustion washed over me, making my smile turn to more of a grimace.
