Stormfly pov

Me and Astrid were out on our usual morning patrol, checking to see if the hunters were going to attack or if there was anything suspicious in the area. Flying over the water the rising sun painted the ocean different shades of orange, yellow and pink while we dodged and weaved past and through sea stacks before eventually gaining altitude and leveling out high above the water surface while Astrid started marking off the quadrants we have already been too.

Astrid : "alpha quadrant checks out. Nothing by the water and..."

Just before Astrid could finish talking I spotted something in the distance. It looked like it was a ship but I couldn't tell who it belonged to.

Stormfly : "Hey wait, look down there."

Gesturing over to the boat Astrid looked over and her eyes narrowed slightly before grabbing a spy glass from my saddlebag.

Astrid : "yeah. I see it too girl... let's get a closer look..."

Stormfly : "right."

Flying down towards the boat a fog bank slowly crept around the ship covering us and making it hard to see and making it seem as if it was night, however as we landed on the ship it was clear to see that this ship was practically falling apart... Astrid grabbed her axe before getting off of my back and looked around for anything that might pose a threat before looking at me and giving me a hand signal that meant "on guard". At that i stuck out the spikes on my tail and got into a battle stance as I followed Astrid. After looking around for a short amount of time Astrid turned around to me.

Astrid : "abandoned. Let's get out of here-"

Just as Astrid started to walk back to me something fell over deeper in the ship that was accompanied by a raspy shout of what sounded like agony... as we both heard that we quickly glanced at each other and slowly pressed deeper into the ship, adopting our combat stances once again.

Astrid : "hello?"

As Astrid pressed on, I followed her into the ship when a strange and foul smell caught my attention. Sniffing the air, I smelled something that almost made me shake my head and almost throw up, it smelled of death...

Astrid : "ugh! What is that smell!? Stormfly, torch."

As she said that, I lit a torch that was hanging from the wall, and she picked it up and we both walked further into the ship before Astrid's eyes went wide in terror as we saw what was the cause of the stench... Vikings... sickly and pale they were all groaning and slowly crawling around.

Astrid : "no..."

As we both started to back up one of them reached up and grabbed her arm making her scream in both pain and terror as the Vikings grasp left a scratch on her arm before she quickly jerked her arm away from the Viking who collapsed soon after and we ran out to the deck of the ship, dropping the torch in the process. After we reached the deck, I quickly looked Astrid up and down, she was clutching her arm in pain as her breathing was erratic.

Astrid : "i-its ok girl... it's just a scratch."

Quickly climbing onto me, me and Astrid both flew back to the edge.
