Chapter 59

Ten minutes later after I finished in the ladies I was about to go back to the table when I noticed Matt was standing at the bar when he stopped me.

Matt said in a polite voice Louise, I've been working in this pub for a while now so I hope you don't mind me asking you this but when I bought the drinks over before I sort of noticed that jimmy was holding your hand across the table and was wondering if you and Jimmy are a couple?

When Matt asked me if me and Jimmy were a couple I didn't really know what to say as since me and Jimmy got together a few weeks ago we hadn't really discussed about when to tell people even though Kate kept asking if me and Jimmy had kissed.

Also as we wanted to keep things quiet for the time being part of me wanted to tell Kate first but realised that we would have to tell someone at some point.

As I didn't know Matt all that all well I didn't want to say anything before I had spoken to Jimmy.

I replied ok Matt, I think you need to speak to Jimmy.

Matt replied ok I'll come over in a few minutes and talk to jimmy

After I walked back to the table, Jimmy said babe are you ok as you look a bit worried?

I replied well when I came out of the ladies Matt stopped me and he noticed that you were holding my hand before when he brought the drinks over to us and he asked me if and you are a couple?

Jimmy replied what did you say?

I said to Matt that he should speak to you.

Jimmy replied ok, I'll speak to him and don't worry babe as I know that you want to tell Kate first before we tell anyone else.

I replied yeah I know but as you know Matt better than I do would you mind telling him?

Jimmy replied no not at all and I'll speak to Matt but are you ok about me telling him about us?

I nervously replied yeah I am but we've got to tell someone Jimmy.

Jimmy replied yeah I know as he held my hand across the table.

A few minutes later Matt came over to the table and said Jimmy, I hope you don't mind but Louise mentioned that I need to speak to you about something.

Jimmy replied yeah I do and is there anywhere we can talk in private?

Matt said yeah sure and I'll just get someone to take over and we'll go into the back room.

Jimmy replied ok

A few minutes later Matt came over and said Jimmy I'm ready.

Jimmy replied ok and Louise will you be ok on your own for a bit?

I said yeah sure as Jimmy and Matt made their way into the back room.

Whilst I was waiting for Jimmy to come back I had a look at the menu and hoped it was going ok as Matt is the first person that we've told since we got together a few weeks ago.

Jimmy's POV

We were in the backroom and I sat down and Matt said Jimmy, I've known you a long time since you've become a regular customer in this pub.

I replied yeah I know and whenever I wanted a chat you'd be there for me and think you're a good listener.

Matt said awww thanks Jimmy

I replied that's ok

Matt then asked so what is it you want to tell me and what's going on between you and Louise?

I took a deep breath and said Matt, well since you last saw me and Louise a few weeks ago I asked Louise to become my girlfriend and we've been seeing each other ever since.

Matt replied awww that's great news Jimmy.

I replied yeah it is but we've not told anyone else yet and you're the first person that we've told but as it's still early days for us we'd like to keep it quiet for the moment if that's ok?

Matt replied yeah sure and don't worry Jimmy I promise I won't tell anyone.

I said ok thanks Matt we both really appreciate it as Louise hasn't told her friend Kate yet.

Matt replied ok Jimmy I understand and are you sure Louise will be ok about you telling me?

I said yeah she will and I'll reassure Louise that you won't tell anyone.

Matt then asked me, would you like any more drinks later?

I replied I'll ask Louise when I go back and thanks Matt.

Matt said ok and I'll bring the meals over in a bit.

I replied ok Matt

After I told Matt about us, I then went back to the table whilst we waited for our lunch.
