Side note: guess who's seeing Post Malone in June? I'm so excited to see him and can't wait to see Daddy Post live.

We arrived back home with everybody in tow. Austin carried Daphne in her car seat as Winter and I carried the bags. I was finally allowed to go home and rest. I was tired as Daphne had woken up several times the previous night and I had gotten much sleep. But I was home with my family.
The three of us got everything put away and Daphne settled in her crib. She had fallen asleep on the way home so we placed her in her crib. Winter was also tired so she went to her room. I heard music being played when I walked past to go to the kitchen. It seemed to be a way to destress and a relaxer for Winter. I hoped she had a great career in music when she grew up. She had amazing mentors with Teddy Swims and, of course, Austin.
I found Austin in the kitchen making a snack. I grabbed something to eat as well and sat with him at the breakfast counter.
Austin squeezed my leg. "How are you doing, baby?"
"Good," I replied. "Tired but I'm okay. How are you?"
"The same," Austin replied. "I can take the baby duties tonight since I know she had a rough night last night."
I leaned against Austin. "I'd appreciate that. I forgot what it was like to have a baby."
Austin wrapped an arm around my shoulders. "We'll get through this together. I won't let you take all the work with raising a kid. We're a team."
I sighed. "Thank you. Winter's up there listening to music. How's she doing on her drum lessons?"
"Great," Austin replied. "She's picking it up very quickly. I want to use her on some of my music on a future album."
"Go ahead," I said, shifting away from Austin. "I'm sure she'd love to do that."
Austin took a bite of food. "She's going to be a great artist and I want to guide her through it. I've been talking with Teddy Swims and he wants to use her when her skills grow. I've been talking with Jelly Roll and he's down on having her on the song we're making together."
"You and Jelly Roll are making a song together?" I asked. "I'm glad I'm married to you because you know all of my favorite artists. When he comes to make that song, you're going to introduce us."
Austin laughed. "For sure. It won't be for a bit because we're still figuring out what the song is."
"I'm glad you're famous," I said, looking at him with a playful smile. "You know all my favorite artists."
"So it's not for my money?" Austin joked.
"That's the second reason," I replied.
Austin burst out laughing and I joined him a second later. As we finished laughing, Winter walked into the kitchen. She leaned into me and I pulled her close, rubbing her shoulders.
"Is everything okay?" I asked. "Feeling okay?"
Winter nodded. "I'm fine. I wanted something to eat but isn't it too close to dinner?"
I looked at the time. "Yeah but go grab something small to eat. If you're hungry, then you're hungry. I'll get started on dinner soon."
Winter dug through the fridge and got a yogurt. She joined us at the breakfast bar. After some time of talking, I started making dinner. Daphne woke up at some point and started crying. Austin went to take care of her. Winter helped me with making the food. She was such a helpful girl with great manners.
Austin came into the kitchen with Daphne, placing her in a baby bouncer. She was quiet and was watching us move around her. Dinner was finished right after and we started eating. Daphne remained quiet most of dinner, only making a few noises. It was nice to spend time with my family after spending so much time in the hospital.
After dinner, Austin took over the dishes while I took Daphne into the living room. Winter disappeared somewhere into the house. I read a book quietly while Daphne drifted between sleeping and being awake. Austin was gone for awhile as well before joining me. He spent most of the time on his phone, texting someone. I didn't pay it any mind as he was always on his phone working.
I finished the chapter just as Daphne started crying. I picked her up and checked her diaper. Since it was clean, I started breastfeeding her and she calmed down almost right away. I spent some time feeding her before she was done. I put her back in the baby bouncer and she fell asleep in a few minutes.
I sighed, looking over at Austin. "When are your parents coming to visit to see the baby?"
He put his phone down. "They want to come next week. Is that okay?"
I nodded. "Yeah, of course. Both sets of my parents want to come at the end of the month. I didn't want to overwhelm us or Daphne with too many people."
"That's a good idea," Austin said. "How are you doing with her? Getting used to having a baby again?"
"I'm trying to," I answered. "It's been over nine years since I had one. This little girl seems to be doing okay so far though. I really appreciate how much you've been helping."
"That's my kid too," Austin pointed out, a little smirk on his face. "I'd be a dumbass to not help at all."
"I may need more help when I go to school," I said. "Winter is more responsible but with the baby, I'll need more help. We can hire a nanny or have one of our parents stay to help. We're both going to be busy people but I don't want the responsibility on just one person."
"It's not going to," Austin assured. "We'll talk it over with our parents when they come to visit. But I don't want to fail you or our kids. I want to be a present father."
"You're going to be a great father," I said. "When school comes closer for me, we can talk about it. But I'd like to know how we're going to set up childcare. I can even bring Winter with me when she's not in school. She's a quiet kid and can sit in the back reading or something."
"I'm planning on making a new album. I'm already talking with a few artists," Austin said. "I was thinking about writing a country album as I really enjoy that genre. Once that album comes out, there's a chance that I go on tour. That leaves you alone with two kids while going to school."
I grabbed his hand to squeeze it. "We'll get it figured out. It just takes a lot of talking and planning. As long as we do it together, we can do anything."
Austin kissed me. "That's the plan. I love you so much."
"I love you too."
