It had been months of having Daphne and I was planning on going to school. Even though Austin was completely willing to pay for my school, I had applied to as many scholarships and grants as I could. I also had a house to run. Austin was begging to write a new album and I was starting school within a few weeks. With Daphne and Winter, we had a lot on our plates.

Since school was just a few weeks away, it was about time to register for classes. After a busy morning of getting Winter off to school and getting Daphne down for a nap, I opened my computer to see if classes were open yet. Thankfully, they were and I started looking for the classes that I needed. I had been talking with an advisor and they had told me what classes that I needed for the two degrees that I wanted to get.

I had sixteen credits by the time I was done with signing up for classes. It was more than full-time but I believed that I was able to do it. My mom was able to stay with us for a couple of months to help out with Daphne while Austin and I were busy. Mom was a godsend and I loved her so much.

In fact, my mom was going to be landing in an hour. I called for Winter as I got up to get Daphne ready. Daphne was awake and was not wanting to get dressed. She settled down after being changed, however. Winter came down a few minutes later, completely dressed. She was developing into her own sense of style and she was starting to dress like she came from the nineties grunge scene. It was close to how I dressed.

We walked out of the house about a half an hour before my mom landed. I knew it was going to take us longer to get there than that half an hour but Mom still had to get off the plane and walk to where we would pick her up. The kids and I loaded up and headed for the airport. Winter was a diligent sister, looking after her sister whenever she cried.

When we got to the airport, I got Daphne and Winter got out. We headed to the arrivals part of the airport and we had made it just in time. I spotted Mom walking through the crowd at the same time that Winter did. Winter took off towards her grandma and went straight into her arms. Mom spun Winter around before joining us.

Mom bent down to look at Daphne. "Oh, won't you look at that pretty little face? She's such a cute baby!"

"She is, isn't she?" I said. "I make cute babies."

"Let me carry her." Mom reached for the baby carrier. "I want to hold my granddaughter."

She took the baby carrier and I took her bags as we went to the car. I drove us home as Mom entertained the children. Mom had always been a fantastic grandmother. She was amazing with Winter and, even with her short time with Daphne already, she was going to be great with her as well.

When we got home, Winter helped carry Mom's bags inside as Mom carried Daphne in. As Winter led Mom to the guest room, I placed Daphne in her bouncer in the kitchen. Winter was in the guest room with Mom, though she was doing more talking than helping. I started making dinner ready for all of us. Austin was going to be getting home within the hour and he was probably going to be hungry.

I moved around the kitchen, getting everything together. Mom and Winter eventually joined us and Mom started helping me. Winter sat at the breakfast bar, talking with us while we finished dinner. Just as we finished dinner, Austin walked in the door. He greeted Mom before kissing Winter and Daphne on their foreheads.

He kissed me as a greeting. "Hello, my love. It smells good."

"Thanks," I replied. "Mom helped. Let's get eating. I'm sure you're hungry."

"Absolutely," Austin said. "Winter, let's help your mom set the table."

Winter got up from the breakfast bar and grabbed some plates while Austin grabbed some utensils. We all sat down together and started eating. Austin had Daphne in her bouncer next to him, gently rocking her with his foot. She sat quietly, chewing on a teether. She watched Austin with a loving look.

It was a lovely dinner with my family and it felt good to sit there with everyone. After dinner, Austin was the one that helped clean the dishes with the help of Winter. Mom and I went to the living room to spend some time with Daphne. She was such an expressive baby.

Once the dishes were done, Austin joined us while Winter went to her room. A few minutes later, I heard her using the drums. She had learned quite a bit on the drum set and was improving every time she used it.

After a couple of hours, I went to my room. I was exhausted from spending a lot of time around people. It was my own family but I was an introvert and I was just drained. Thankfully, Austin was able to watch over Daphne while I laid down. I was too tired to be social, even while my mom was visiting. I loved her but my battery was drained.

I was already half asleep when Austin came into the room. He kissed my forehead before he started getting ready for bed. I moaned softly as I rolled over to face him.

"Did I wake you?" Austin said quietly.

I shook my head. "No. I was just half asleep. Did you get Daphne to sleep?"

Austin pulled his shirt off. "Your mom did. Your mom is in the guest room now."

"Okay," I mumbled. "What are we doing tomorrow?"

"I've got to go into the studio again," Austin said. "I got inspiration to write a song about Daphne and being a father. I was thinking of bringing Winter to help with some of the instrumentals. Are you okay with staying here with your mom and Daphne?"

"Yeah, that's fine," I answered. "We could bring you two lunch."

"That'd be great," Austin said. He kissed my forehead. "I love you a lot, my love."

"I love you too," I mumbled, about to fall asleep. "Do you have to work so much?"

Austin brushed some hair out of my face. "I have a new album that I'm making and I have a lot of inspiration. I don't mean to leave you alone with the family but your mom is here to help."

"She isn't you, though," I said. "You're my husband. I want you home."

Austin squeezed my hand. "And I'll be here. We'll just both be busy here soon. You've got school and I've got my new album. But it'll all be worth it in the end, I promise."

I looked at our joined hands. "I'd still like to see you more. We could go on date nights and find some way to spend time together."

"We'll find a way to do exactly that," Austin assured. "We're get it figured out because we're a team. Not just two people in a relationship. A team."

I smiled, my eyes finally drooping closed. "I love you, Austin Post."

"I love you too, MacKenzie Haas."
