Nang makauwi kami ay nagpasalamat lang ulit si nanay at saka pumasok sa loob dahil maghahanda pa daw siya ng kakainin namin.

So Jandro and I were left outside the house and here comes the awkward silence.

His phone beeped and he looked at it. His eyes enlarged and his hand trembled upon seeing whatever was in it but he looked up and fixed his eyes on me as if looking at me can calm him down.

But indeed, he calmed down.

“I'm sorry, baby but...” he trailed off and that pissed me off.

“Huwag kang pa thrilling” I said seriously and crossed my arms and that made him heave a sigh.

“We can't talk tonight” he said straightly while looking at me thoroughly as if he's observing what my reaction will be.

I poked the insides of my cheeks and looked away, showing him how disappointed I am, again.

“Amelia, baby, I can't risk your life by staying for too long. My father's man is just around us and they can shoot us with just a word from papa. Baby, please understand it” he said and his eyes were pleading.

His hands also reach for mine and hold it tightly and I can feel how shaky it is.

Natatakot ba siya sa tatay niya? If that's it then why did he even promise that we will fight him together kung siya ngang mismong anak ay hindi malabanan ang tatay niya.

“If you are thinking that I am scared of my father, well I am not. I wouldn't get this far if I was, Amelia” he said in a more serious tone.

Then why is he acting strange and nervous?

“The thing that I am scared of is him killing you right here, right now. I don't have any weapon with me to fight their bullets that were coming for you baby so no. I won't risk it. I won't risk losing you, never” he muttered as he stared at me with his watering eyes na sa isang pikit niya lang ay tutulo na lahat ng luhang nakaipon doon.

His phone vibrated and in a swift move, he cupped my face gently and sealed my lips with a gentle kiss.

I was too stunned to respond and to push him away but before I realized what happened mabilis niyang hinalikan ang noo ko before he slid himself in his car and drove away.

My breathing was uncontrollable and my heartbeat just wouldn't calm down.

My phone vibrated at nang kinuha ko iyon, Jandro's face welcomed me. He's calling at kaagad ko namang sinagot iyon saka ito itinapat sa tainga ko.

“Good night, missy. Have a sweet dream. I can't talk much since I am driving in the fastest way. I just called to properly say goodbye and to tell you that I will be there tomorrow” he said through the phone but I didn't speak and just touched my lips where I can still feel his.

“I love you, Amelia so damn much” he muttered afterwards and I just want to faint upon hearing him saying it through the phone with his husky yet sweet voice.

“M-mahal rin kita, Jandro. Mag-ingat ka” I replied before I hung up.

I feel like I'm in a cloud nine the whole night even when I fall off to sleep.

The next morning, I received some messages from Jandro saying that I should take some time off from work para makita ko pa rin siya ngayon na siyang nagpangiwi sa akin.

Ano siya sinuswerte? Asa naman siya!

I put my phone down as I stood up to get ready.

Nang makalabas ako sa kwarto ay amoy ko kaagad ang Tapsilog na niluluto ni nanay kaya mabilis akong nagtungo sa kusina para sabayan na si nanay kumain.
