"It's not just a kidnapping. There's something bigger going on. Levi Chua's involvement... it's more than we thought."

I could hear a low murmur from another officer, a different voice.

"You think he could be connected to the murders of Don Maximillian and Doña Elizabeth?"

"I'm not sure," Maxima Morfeo's voice broke through the haze. "But there's a possibility. Levi's family has been at odds with our family for years, over mining, over influence... It's all tied together somehow."

"Kung nagawa niya iyon kay Satin, posible ngang siya ang may pakana ng pagpatay kina Mama at Papa..." boses naman ngayon ni Hacintha Morfeo.

I could barely keep my eyes open, but I caught the fragments of their conversation, pieces of the puzzle falling into place, even though I was too dizzy to fully understand.

"They've confirmed it," si Thadeus Morfeo. "He's dead, paano 'yan?"

I barely managed to open my eyes a little more. I saw the officers standing around. Nasa loob ako ng puting silid at alam ko na agad na hospital ito. My body felt heavy, my wrists sore from where I had been tied up, and the pain in my abdomen made it hard to focus.

Suddenly, I felt a hand gently on my shoulder. I heard a familiar, comforting voice, one that cut through the haze of my mind.

"Satin...." Cronus's voice was soft. His hand cupped my face, tilting my head to meet his gaze.

"C-Cronus..." I managed, my voice weak and trembling.

I could feel the tears welling up again. Kinapa ko ang aking tiyan at pilit na ibinabalik ang mga nangyari sa aking isipan.

"Iyong baby... iyong baby natin? K-Kumusta? Okay lang ba siya?" nagpapanic na tanong ko.

Naramdaman kong napalingon sa amin sina Maxima Morfeo at Hacintha Morfeo. Tinapik ni Thadeus Morfeo ang mga pulis at hinatid sila palabas ng silid.

"Satin..." lumapit si Mama sa akin at hinawakan ang kamay ko. Namumula ang mga mata niya at mukhang galing sa matinding pag-iyak.

Maxima exchanged a glance with Hacintha, then back to Cronus. There was a silent conversation passing between them, something I wasn't part of, but I felt it deep within me. Something terrible was coming.

"Satin, there's no easy way to tell you this... but..." si Hacintha Morfeo. Biglang humagulgol si Mama kaya umakyat ang takot at kaba sa buong pagkatao ko.

"Satin..."

"What is it, Cronus? Please..." nanginig ang boses ko.

He closed his eyes, as if steeling himself.

"The baby... our baby... the baby didn't make it."

Hindi ko maipaliwanag ang kirot nang tumusok ang matulis na bagay sa aking dibdib. Nagbara ang lalamunan ko. Halos hindi ko ma-proseso ang narinig. I looked at him to read his face, but all I saw was pain, deep and raw pain.

"No..." I whispered while shaking my head, denying it would make it untrue. "No, hindi 'yan totoo... Cronus imposible..."

Cronus closed his eyes again, his fingers trembling where they held my hand. It was enough to confirm what I had already feared.

"The doctors... they tried everything they could, Satin. The injuries you sustained were too much. It wasn't just the physical damage. It was—"

Hindi na natuloy ni Maxima Morfeo ang sasabihin niya dahil napahagulgol na ako. Mabilis akong umiling, umawas na parang may pader na nagbabalik sa aking utak, ngunit hindi ko kayang tanggapin ang katotohanan. Ang sakit na nararamdaman ko ay parang tinutusok ng bawat salitang binanggit nila.
