Kabanata 30

Hindi ko alam kung paano ko napigilan ang sarili kong hindi muling humagulgol. Nakatitig lang ako sa mga mata niya habang sinasabi niya 'yon. The tears had dried on my cheeks, but the ache in my chest remained.

Ngayon ay hindi ko alam kung tama pa bang sabihin ko sa kaniya ang nararamdaman ko, biglang umakyat ang takot at pangamba sa dibdib ko. Alam kong napag-isipan ko itong mabuti, alam ko rin na hinanda ko naman ang sarili ko para rito pero pagkatapos ng mga nangyari, umurong lahat bigla.

"Satin..." he whispered. "I hate seeing you cry."

Cronus slowly reached up and gently wiped the tears from my cheeks with the pad of his thumb.

He looked at me, like he was trying to memorize the pain on my face, or maybe how to take it all away. He pulled me into his arms. I didn't move. My hands just stayed at my sides, stiff. Slowly, I let myself into him. He wrapped his arms around me, one hand gently cradling the back of my head.

"I'm sorry," he whispered repeatedly into my hair.

My throat was too tight, my heart too full. Pakiramdam ko ay ito lang ata ang hinihintay ko. That he saw how much it broke me.

"Cronus..." I said.

Panahon na, tama na siguro ang pagkakataon. Ano man ang maging kalabasan, ang mahalaga ay mawala ang tinik sa lalamunan ko.

"I didn't think I'd fall for you." nanghihinang sabi ko.

He pulled back just enough to look into my eyes, but he didn't let me go. His eyes widened, but he didn't speak.

"And I didn't expect that falling... would hurt this much." dagdag ko.

"Holy shit," he cursed softly.

Cronus stared at me like he hadn't expected me to say those words, like they knocked the breath out of him. Iniisip ko pa lamang kung anong ibig sabihin nun nang bigla niya akong siilin ng halik. Wala akong naging pagkakataong makapag-isip. His kiss was urgent, like something inside him had finally snapped. It wasn't was full of emotion he'd been holding back.

My hands reached up, clinging to the front of his suit, grounding myself in the only thing that made sense in that moment... him.

His thumb brushed along my jaw. Nang dahan-dahan niyang putulin ang halik, nanatiling magkalapit ang mga labi namin. His forehead pressed gently against mine.

"You... fell for me?" ulit niya.

Dahan-dahan akong tumango.

"Fuck!" he cursed repeatedly.

Hinawakan niya ang panga ko at muling sinunggaban ang aking labi, mas marahas, mas uhaw. I responded in kind, my arms winding around his neck as I pressed myself flush against him. Tears pricked at the corners of my eyes. Impulsively, I tilted my head up and captured his lips once more. He groaned softly and deepened it, his tongue delving into my mouth to dance with mine.

He broke the kiss to trail his lips along my jaw and down the side of my neck, nipping lightly at my pulse point. I shivered and tilted my head to give him better access, my hands fisting in his hair. My body felt like it was on fire, every nerve ending alight with desire. His lips and teeth worked magic along my neck. Hindi nakapagpigil, binuhat niya ako na parang bagong kasal at dinala sa kama upang malayang mahalikan.
