Chapter 15...

A/N: And one more, I apologize it's so late! I had too much fun writing this chapter it made me really excited! Tell me your opinions on how you think Thorin and Edlyn's relationship could turn out? I'd love to read them. ;)

When I wake up it's extremely late at night so I try my hardest to fall asleep again but it doesn't work. So I get up on my bed and look at the window at Erebor. I then look down at the blush pink gown I am still wearing...I just want to know why Thorin wouldn't let me stay. I get of my bed and my attention turns to the cloak laying across a chair in my room. Walking across the room I pick it up and tie it on then I leave my room. The house is dark so that means my father is sound asleep. Now it's just a matter of getting passed the guards outside.

When I step outside the cool air hits me as I pull my hood up covering my face. I start to walk down the road to where there's a small hole in the stone wall. Every time guards pass I hide against houses. Once I finally sneak my way out of Dale I start toward Erebor once more. I am going to figure out why Thorin doesn't want me there but I'm pretty sure I already know why.

Before I know it I'm in front of the large golden gates. "Don't step any closer!" Somebody shouts from above.

"I am only here to see Thorin!" I shout back.

"What business do you have with the Dwarf Prince!? Reveal yourself!" So I take off my hood and look up at the dwarf yelling at me. "Step away from this gate girl!" I back up.

"I am no foe dwarf!" Angry starts to build up.

"Move!" I hear someone else but can't make out the voice then Thorin appears. I smile when I see him but his face is serious. "What are you doing here!" He sneers.

"I wanted to talk to you open the gates."

"I will not open these gates for you! I want you to leave, now before I have these men take care of you."

"What are they going to do!?" I scoff.

"Archers at the ready!" He yells. My heart starts pounding.

"You wouldn't..." I take another step back.

"Leave!"

"How could you have such a cold heart Prince Thorin!?" I scream. "You would not kill someone in cold blood, no wonder why your kind is hated!" When I step back again my dress trips me and I wind up falling backwards. Pain shoots up my side where my ribs are broken causing me to cry out. In fact I'm starting to see stars and my vision starts to go black. I must of hit my head as well. Then I feel strong hands supporting my head.

"Edlyn! Don't you dare pass out on me! Somebody get someone now!" I hear Thorin yell. He has his arms wrapped around my body cradling me. I feel my eyes start to shut. "Edlyn!" His voice starting to sound muffled. He shakes me causing me to open my eyes. He pushes hair from my face with his extremely large fingers. He rubs the back of my head with his other hand. Then he pulls me in closer to his body.

"I just wanted to...talk."

"There is nothing to talk about we said our farewell's today, you belong in Dale. That is your home Edlyn..." He whispers.

"Ed...just Ed, I've grown very fond of you Thorin. All I want is a friendship is that too much to ask?" I ask now looking up at him again.

"I am sorry but I cannot be your friend, you can stay here for the night but you must leave in the morning." He quickly says picking me up and carrying me inside the kingdom. People keep coming up asking if I'm okay and he tells them that there wasn't anything to worry about. He kicks open these large doors. "You'll be staying in my room for the night." He carefully places my aching body in his large bed then starts to turn back to the door.

"Thorin? What are you so scared of?" I ask before he leaves the room. I watch his head raise a little.

"Nothing! I just don't need anyone's acquaintance!" His voice becomes very harsh. Then he rushes out of the room slamming the doors making me jump. I clench the blankets in my hands tightly.
