When I wake up in the morning my side is in complete pain. It hurts so bad that my father has to take me to Dale's local physician. He doesn't do a lot for it, he just tells me to eat some herbs in my food that will help the pain. I only half listen to him because my mind is corrupt with Thorin and his extremely soft lips. When we get back home I play my harp a little and that when my father figures out that something it up with me.

"Lyn? What's wrong my dear?"

"Nothing dad, I just haven't been feeling well..." My father smiles at me.

"You've grown fond of the Dwarf Prince haven't you?" He asks, I stop strumming my harp and set it down next to me.

"That is absurd-"

"No Edlyn...that is the reason you went back to Erebor."

"He treated me so well..." I sigh.

"Ed, I gave you my consent to stay there." He looks at me puzzled.

"Thorin...is being difficult, he does not know what he wants..."

"I think he does..." My dad winks at me.

"Sure." I chuckle and then look up at my father. I get up grimacing in pain, my hand quickly going to my side. My father rushes to steady me quickly.

"You need rest." He says then there's a knock on the door. "Coming!" He yells quickly taking me to my room before opening the door. I hear the door open, my father's voice sounds muffled along with the other. After about minute or two I hear footsteps stop at my doorway.

"Heard you needed aid, my dear girl." I turn to see Mr. Bernly stand there. I smile brightly when I see him. He walks over to me and I feel my smile fade.

"How is Dis?"

"Heartbroken...poor girl misses you," His voice falls to a whisper. "Thorin has been moping about as well, he hasn't had an appetite like a dwarf would...Edlyn what happened?"

"Him too...huh?" My head drops. Mr. Bernly lifts my chin up. "You fancy Thorin?"

"A little bit..." Mr. Bernly cocks his head.

"I've seen how he treats you..." He smiles. "He treasures you as if you were all the gold in that mountain or better yet...as if you were the Arkenstone."

"Arkenstone...?"

"It is the King's Jewel my dear." He starts digging in his bag for supplies.

"The King's Jewel, so it is in fact true?"

"Yes..."

"And gold?" I ask. He pokes at my side and I whimper a little.

"Piles upon piles of gold in the lower levels of Erebor. It is driving Thror mad, each passing day his sickness for gold becomes worse. It is eating Thorin up watching his grandfather grow so sick." I watch Mr. Bernly's hands work as he starts making some concoction with a unique smell to it. My mouth has now fallen open.

"And there is no cure?"

"I've not found one yet." He sighs taking a spoonful of green gunk and looking at it, then he adds something else to it. He smiles stirring it up. "A spoonful of this should help ease the pain, open up." So I obey opening my mouth. He feeds me like I am a small child and after I swallow it I scrunch my face up.

"The after taste is extremely awful."

"It helps," He smiles. "You know Durin's Day is coming soon, the dwarves have a huge celebration. I am personally inviting you." He sets a bottle of the stuff I am supposed to take that he made on my dresser.

"Durin's Day?"

"It's the start of winter, everyone goes crazy about it. Come and bring that." He points across the room at my harp.

"Thank you."

"My pleasure." With that he leaves. I sit on my bed and just play with my hands.
