Hello my fellow readers, thank you for reading this story. In the last chapter I posted I clarified three things. One of those things was the Durin line and their ages. I had to do research on this because it was bugging me a little it because I didn't really know how old Thorin Okenshield was when he actually died. I read the book up until the point Bard killed Smaug and then was bored out of my mind...if they stated it in the movies then I might have not caught it. So here's what I found out, all links will be at the bottom so you can look it up yourself if you'd like :)

The Durin line and ages...

Thorin- age 24 (fall of Erebor)

Frerin- age 19 (fall of Erebor)

Dis- age 10 (fall of Erebor)

Thorin- age 44 (when Thror is killed by orcs of Moria) war lasts between dwarves and orcs 7 yrs.

Thorin- age 53 (Battle of Azanulbizar, Frerin is killed and Dain Ironfoot their cousin, kills Azog the orc. Thorin gains ephitet Okenshield because he uses an oak branch for a shield in battle)

Frerin- age 48 (death)

Thorin- age 56 (when him and father lead people to blue mountains) age 95 (when Thrain leaves to go to wild)

Thorin- age 99 (when his father permanently leaves and he is now king) His father is killed in dungeons of Dol Guldur.

Dis- age 99 (when first son is born, Fili)

Thorin- age 113 (when nephew is born, Fili)

Dis- age 104 (when second son is born, Kili)

Thorin- age 118 (when second nephew is born, Kili)

Thorin- age 195 (when The Hobbit events take place)

Fili- age 82 (when The Hobbit events take place)

Kili- age 77 (when events take place)

Dain Ironfoot- age 174 (when he ascended the throne, king under the mountain) He was 21 yrs apart from Thorin.

I was surprised at the ages, it makes the movie a little bit more unrealistic compared to the book but of course movies will never be like the book. :)

I'm writing this story because I do enjoy the movies more so than the book but it will have some aspects of the book incorporated in to it. Fair warning their aging will be a little bit more realistic in my story based on the looks in the movie. Cause I would like this story to go on until the BoFA...at least but I'll have to see how it turns out.
