Chapter 24...

A week passes by...Thorin corrupts my mind. I have been counting the days down until Durin's Day so I can see him and Dis. Right now I'm picking at wedding cake listening to Milly and Ardy's big speech. Honestly, I never would have thought they'd be married but Milly told me her and Ardy grew fond of each other over the past year. Another thing I found out is that she is with child, so that's one reason they are to be married so quickly. It's going to be weird going to my best friend's house and seeing a little boy or girl run around.

As they finish their speech up everyone claps, my mind is only set on tomorrow which is in fact Durin's Day. When the celebration is over I go up to Milly and hug her then she kisses my cheek. Nothing will be the same now since she is married with a baby on the way. Cindy comes over and hugs us as well. None of my friends know that I associate with the dwarves, Milly wouldn't car much but Ardy and Cindy aren't at all fond of them.

"Edlyn!?" I hear my father call out to me.

"Yes, father?" I ask rushing to him. He smiles quite large.

"Someone has sent you something..." He whispers. Excitement boils inside of me. I say my last goodbyes to my friends, then my father and I rush home. When we get there he shuts the door and points to a large box sitting in his arm chair. I pull the card out from under the ribbon and read it.

Bernly told me about your arrival. Come in this...it is fit for a queen. -Balin.

I open the box and pull out a red and golden dress, there is also a beautiful head piece with it that has a ruby in the middle. I smile wondering what Thorin would think when he seen me in this.

"You leave in the morning."

"Aren't you coming?"

"Edlyn, I will be right here when you get back." My father smiles and kisses my head. "Now take your medicine and run of to bed." So I do as he says.
