A wake up looking down at the flowers all scattered about my floor. I sit up stretching, my long brown hair falling around me. I notice how wavy it is from the braids that Milly put in my hair. Once I get woken up a bit I stand on my bed staring at the kingdom Erebor, wondering what it looks like on the inside. Shaking my head I get off the bed and pull my thin satin gown off throwing it on a chair. Then I walk across the room grabbing my corset putting it on along with a red gown. For the last touches I tie a leather belt around my waist then I tie a braid in my hair.

When I come out of my room my father is already gone to work for the day. I tie my cloak around me and leave as well. When I step out of the house it's pouring down rain, good thing I put the cloak on.

"Hey Edlyn, could I get a hand?" I turn to toward the voice finding Cindy Ardy's sister with her hands full so I quickly go and assist her. I bend down and grab sacks, we quickly get into the house. I set the bags down on her kitchen table. She smiles at me, "Thank you."

"No problem," I say. She takes her cloak off revealing her small baby bump. "Where are the little ones?"

"They're with mother and Lyam is at work." I start helping her unpack things. Her husband Lyam works for the dwarves in the moutain, he's been trying to get Ardy a job with him.

"So did you have fun last night?" I lift my head looking at her.

"Oh...yeah it was okay."

"Your father says you are getting very good at playing the harp." She smiles walking around the table grabbing vegetables and fruits. "You should come play for the kids sometime they'd like that." She then turns away to the sink.

"Sure...I'll do that." I drop my head still pulling things out of bags. I've always wondered what it'd be like to be a mother. Cindy has a little boy named Lennie who's about two and a girl named Arie whose almost five. Then of course she has another on the way. Cindy has always been the person I come to talk to when I need somebody. It's hard to talk to Milly because she get's completely distracted. I place my hands on the table top.

"I heard the prince came to the party last night, did you see him?"

"Yes, I seen him." I quickly say, now gripping the table in anger at the snide remark Thorin said to me last night. "I don't fancy him much." Cindy turns around wiping her hands off with a towel. She chuckcles.

"Not many people fancy dwarves Ed," She smirks placing both hands on her belly. "My husband's made his way around that mountain, he's seen things. Thorin is arrogant and very short-tempered." She puts the towel behind her. "His grandfather is starting to fall ill...a sickness is making him crazy, I fear for these parts everyday because of that kingdom." Her tone becomes serious. Her hazel eyes glowering into mine. Nervously, I move my hands to my cloak gripping that tight now.

"Are you telling me Dale is unsafe CiCi?" I ask shaking now. Her eyes shoot to the door then back to me. Then she takes a deep breath.

"Maybe..." She looks down at her stomach.

"Do you think the dwarf prince is arrogant and short-tempered because of his grandfather?" She just shakes her head.

"No, he just isn't the most friendly of the Durin line but that could be a part of it. Lyam says he's alright sometime's but you don't want to catch him on a bad day." I sigh.

"I ran into him last night," I say placing my hands back on the table.

"And?" She asks.

"He called me an Oaf, so I kind of understand where you're coming from. I apologized for running into him but he never exchanged the apology." She just scoffs.

"Ed if I were you steer clear of dwarves they're definitely something you don't want to get involved with." I nod and she smiles. "Why don't you stay awhile?" So I do and we have some tea and she fixes lunch. The whole time we just chit chat about things.
