"I was silent all this time," she snapped, her voice trembling with a mix of rage and grief, her eyes glinting with an emotion long buried.
"But not anymore. Enough of your accusations. And don’t you dare—don’t you dare—drag my mother into this!"
The room had gone still. Mrs. Shah’s expression, which had earlier been a twisted mixture of arrogance and mock pity, now faltered.
Nandini took a deep breath, her fists clenched at her sides. Her voice lowered to a growl.
"And you want to know why I killed your bastard husband and that pathetic excuse of a son? You want the truth, Mrs. Shah? Then listen."
Before anyone could speak, Nandini stormed out of the hall, her steps echoing with purpose as she took the stairs two at a time. Her rage was a storm barely contained. Moments later, she returned, her hands trembling as she held out a small object—
𝙖 𝙥𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙧𝙞𝙫𝙚.
Her voice cracked, but she stood tall.
"This… this holds the proof of your husband’s sins. This is why. When my mother... 𝙑𝙧𝙞𝙙𝙝𝙚𝙚 𝙍𝙖𝙞... I hope you heard this name Mrs. Shah. Well when she died—or rather, when she was murdered—she left this voice note for me.
So, let me take you back to where it all began—
My parents’, 𝙈𝙧. 𝘼𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙠 𝙍𝙖𝙞 & 𝙈𝙧𝙨. 𝙑𝙧𝙞𝙙𝙝𝙚𝙚 𝙍𝙖𝙞's relationship was already hanging by a thread when our family business began to collapse.
Financial instability turned their silent indifferences into loud arguments. My father, overwhelmed with losses and stress, became emotionally unavailable.
And that’s when he entered our lives—Mr. Raghunath Shah.
