The silence after the gunshot still echoed like a bell tolling death—not just Parth’s, but something more sacred.
Her relationship. Her love.
Anirudh had turned.
His steps were heavy… but steady.
She followed him behind, calling out—her voice hoarse, heart in her throat.
“Ani—Anirudh, please—listen to me once, just once!” she screamed, catching his arm.
But he jerked away from her grip like she had burned him.
His eyes… they weren’t just angry. They were broken.
“You know,” he said slowly, voice trembling with rage, “you know how much Bua—and even Aashi have been suffering all these months. Living like corpses. Praying for justice. For answers.”
She stood frozen, heart pounding.
“And you—” he pointed back toward Parth’s lifeless body, “—you just shot the only link, the only person who might’ve given them closure!”
Tears almost streamed down her cheeks.
“You don’t understand—he didn’t deserve closure. He deserved punishment. You weren’t there—you don’t know what he did to me—”
“I don’t!” he thundered, “And now, I never will. Because you chose to become like them, Nandini.”
He backed away, disgust and hurt plastered all over his face.
“Wait,” he whispered, as another horrifying thought struck him. “Wait… was it you?”
Her breath hitched.
His voice cracked.
“Was it you who killed Phupa Ji?”
Her eyes widened for a second.
That flicker was all he needed.
His world shattered.
She shook her head instantly.
“No—no, Anirudh—please don’t think that—”
But it was too late.
He let out a short, bitter laugh.
One that sounded like betrayal itself.
“I thought I knew you. I thought I loved you.”
“You do,” she cried, her voice breaking. “You still do—please—just let me explain—”
He cut her off, eyes cold. “Don’t.”
“I swear—”
“I said DON’T!”
His roar silenced her.
He stepped forward, closing the distance between them—not with love, but fury.
“Don’t show me your face again. Ever.”
