The silence was deafening.
A flickering bulb struggled against the damp shadows of the room, its hum the only sound.
Raha sat on the cold floor, her knees drawn to her chest.
Hair disheveled.
Lip slightly split.
Her phone lay in pieces a few feet away.
She wasn’t tied up.
She wasn’t locked in..
But still, she hadn’t moved.
Her eyes—distant now, staring at the corner as if it saw something fearful.
She reached into her coat’s inner pocket and pulled out something—a torn piece of paper, half-burnt, the rest unreadable.
Her hands trembled.
She whispered,
“i should'nt have stayed…”
Then silence again.

Anirudh threw the files.
“Nothing. Not a single trace. No CCTV, no calls, no sightings.”
“Her phone’s signal went dead near the city outskirts. After that—nothing.” Rudra muttered.
Vivaan also barged in. “I’ve checked all hospitals. Even private ones. It’s like she vanished.”
Dadi started to worry “Maybe she needed space?”
Nandini said firmly, “No. Raha could be impulsive, clingy even—but never reckless.”
“I’ll reach out to old contacts. Maybe someone heard something.” shivaay said this, and went out.
Anirudh rubbed his face, tired, frustrated.
“How does someone disappear without leaving behind even a shadow?”
And somewhere far away… she was just a shadow now.

Tension still lingered like smoke in the air, though the house was filled with concerned murmurs and quiet calls.
The police had already begun their investigation. But with no leads, they’d asked the family to stay calm and let them handle it.
“It’s not good for anyone to sit and worry endlessly. Let’s keep praying.” dadi said folding her hands.
Just then, a loud crashing sound came from upstairs.
