Now it was time for Nandini and Parth’s couple dance. They looked so happy, completely lost in each other’s smiles and laughter. No disturbances, no interruptions—just pure joy. Watching them, I quietly slipped away, making my way outside to catch a breath.
Just as I stepped out, all the lights suddenly went out.
“What the—?!” I muttered, fumbling for my phone to turn on the torch.
Before I could, the lights flickered back on, and sharp gasps and screams pierced the air. My heart thudded in my chest. What the hell was happening?
I hurried back inside, pushing through the crowd, and froze at the sight before me.
Phupa ji—Parth’s father—was lying motionless on the floor, blood spreading around him like a dark halo.
Bua and Parth sprinted to his side, and I saw Bua’s face crumple as tears streamed down. “Anirudh, go! Start your car! We need to get him to the hospital—now!” she cried.
Om chachu stepped forward, eyes fierce with determination. I nodded sharply, grabbing the car keys from Rudy without a word.

Outside the OT, tension hung thick in the air. Nandini and her family had joined us, their faces pale and eyes red from crying. Bua was inconsolable, sobbing quietly beside us.
Suddenly, I heard Dad’s voice, sharp and trembling with anger, echo from a phone call. “I don’t care how you do it—I want that culprit found in two days. No excuses.”
Probably talking to the investigator.
From what we gathered, someone had pushed Uncle from the second floor. But who? Who could do this?
After what felt like an eternity, Om chachu emerged from the operation theatre.
“He’s stable. Out of danger now,” he said, and relief washed over us like a tide.
I stepped forward, determined, and headed straight to deliver the news to Dadu and Dadi.
