When I was tested for weaknesses, none were found, which wasn't surprising, I had been able to hold my own very well against Matthew Toussaint at the facility. Only possible source of worry were people with pyrogenic abilities as well as those with the ability to manipulate and generate electricity. Those were what I needed to work on in addition to improving my powers even further.
"I need to get my hands on some raw milk." Yvonne said as we stretched in preparation for today's training.
"Isn't that illegal?" I pointed out.
"Extremely." She replied. "But it's important if I'm going to figure out a way around my weakness."
"Yes but there's no way you'll be able to get your hands on raw milk."
"I can try."
"Oh well." I shrugged.
We went off in different directions to find someone to spar with for the day's training. We avoided going up against each other on days we were to spar in order to make sure we weren't tested against each other.
At lunchtime, we discussed how to navigate our weaknesses. Everyone threw in different ideas but so far the only feasible one was training even harder in secret.
"Would that be enough though?" I asked.
"Not sure but what other choice do we have?" Kylie sighed.
"But if we find a way into that simulation room..." Yvonne began to speak but trailed off.
"That would be great but how do we find our way into that room?" Toni estimated.
"What if we just ask?" I suggested.
"We don't want to draw attention to ourselves. We need to keep the simulation room strategy between us." Kylie expressed.
"So are we seriously considering going in there?" Yvonne asked.
"It's just something for us to think about." Toni answered.
"In the meantime, we are going to be training much harder in secret." Kylie said.
In the following days, we trained in the evenings and thought up new ways to work on our weaknesses. A way into the simulation room was a priority.
"Where are you always disappearing too?" I overheard Rocco asking Yvonne sometime after we had come back from training secretly.
"Exploring the place." Yvonne lied easily.
"I've explored several places in here. Well except for the part reserved for the Super Force themselves."
"So you've been everywhere?" Yvonne asked.
"Well yes."
"We should go exploring sometime." She said casually.
"That would be awesome."
The following day during training, I spotted Toni and Yvonne having a conversation which piqued my curiosity. At lunchtime, the curiosity was satisfied.
"Yvonne and I have it all planned out." Toni told us. "We get Rocco to help us get into the simulation room but we will need to draft in a couple more people so we don't look suspicious."
"Who are the people we're bringing in?"
"The only other people that we actually know well."
"Please don't say it." I groaned. There was only one person we knew well enough.
"I'm so sorry but we have no choice. Also his powers could be useful for you."
"Ugh! I hate this."
"I literally dislike both people that we have to bring in but they're the only people we know well enough and their powers are pretty useful."
His name hadn't been mentioned yet but I was already feeling sick to my stomach. "I'm going to have to be the one to talk to him, aren't I?"
"Since I'm the one that basically ran him off, I'm going to be there as well. Of course, I'll be hiding in case he's co-operative but if he acts stubborn, I can come out and intimidate him into joining us."
I found him hours later, sitting by himself close to the rooms. I nearly felt bad for him. Nearly.
"Dae-woo?" I called out cautiously.
He sighed. "Come to berate me further?"
"Not if you behave yourself." I retorted.
"What do you want?"
"I just came to ask if you are interested in rejoining us." I nearly spat out the words but they still left a bitter taste in my mouth.
"Why would I rejoin you?"
"Well I don't see anyone extending invitations, do I?"
He flinched at my words then shrank. "Fine."
"Well then, if you would just follow me." I turned around and headed back to the common room where the others were waiting.
