"Pretty sure I only made it through the skin of my teeth." Jacqueline admitted.
"I thought I was the only one, I wasn't at my best in there." Kylie sighed.
"We must push ourselves harder." Jacqueline groaned.
"Absolutely." Kylie agreed.
"You need to see an attendant?" I asked the both of them.
"I'll be fine." Kylie dismissed my concerns with a wave of the hand. "My extra strength helps me heal after a while."
"I need to rest for a minute before I go. I am so tired." Jacqueline sighed, clearly exhausted.
We let Jacqueline rest, we played cards quietly while we waited for her to get some strength to see an attendant. Five minutes later, she basically sprang up and asked Yvonne to take her to see an attendant.
"Soooo..." Kylie said, her voice dropped a few octaves.
"Yeah?" I asked her.
"Did your test go well?"
"Yeah it did."
"Really?"
"Yeah! It went almost perfectly."
"Almost?"
"Well yeah. I was kind of tired at the end of it."
"Really?"
"Yeah."
"Another test is around the corner." Kylie mumbled suddenly.
"And we better be prepared for it." I finished her sentence.
"When Jacqueline and Yvonne returned from seeing an attendant we got to work trying to deduce the possible tests that would follow after this one.
"Obviously this test was all about our weaknesses. We had the option to try using our powers even in the event our powers had been limited to any degree or to put Catherine's training to use instead." Toni explained.
"That's definitely it." Yvonne agreed with me
"Now we made it through for different reasons. Yvonne and I had little difficulty but for the both of you, it wasn't as easy but you made it through because your powers never for once gave out on you throughout." I gestured all around us
"You might be correct." Jacqueline mused aloud.
"We need to lookout for what our training will focus on. That's our next test."
"Noted." Yvonne said as she nodded.
"We should meet at the training room tonight." I suggested.
"Good idea." Kylie answered as if it was a question.
"All of us need to work on our stamina." I sighed. "That goes for me as well."
"Yeah we've become too reliant on our powers in spite of Catherine's training." Yvonne observed.
"Definitely not great for the long run." I continued.
"But we'll still focus on our powers right?" Jacqueline asked.
"Definitely. Improving our powers is still a priority." I reassured her.
"It's not going to be easy this time." Yvonne blew a breath.
"Tomorrow evening." I told them.
When we met at the training ground the next day, we only applied the things Catherine had taught us. No powers were allowed
"I thought I had been improving but it turns out I had actually been relying on my extra strength." Kylie huffed in annoyance.
"I have been relaxing for a while now." Yvonne sheepishly admitted.
"Come on guys. This is important." I groaned. "No more screw ups."
"There definitely won't be a next time because the next test is going to be much harder. We need to go so hard, we would be able beat even the final test which I'm sure is astronomically difficult." Jacqueline advised.
"To the S-Force!" Yvonne whooped and brought a fist forward.
We blinked at her while she watched us expectantly. She wiggled her arm slightly, encouraging us.
"Come on." She said cheerily.
Jacqueline sighed and reluctantly joined fists with her. "To the S-Force!"
