I was floating

I was floating. It felt like I wasn't on earth anymore but I knew better. It was an anti-gravity simulation. It felt way too familiar. Very similar to what I was tested with some weeks ago. I could bet that it was the exact same simulation that had been tested on me.

I opened my eyes to see myself surrounded by dark menacing creatures. Some looked to be twice my size.

"Get your head in the game Kylie." I said to myself.

Without thinking twice, I used my telekinesis to lift them all up and fling them. A few of them recovered immediately and flew towards me. One threw a punch at my face and I quickly blocked it. Another tried to kick me in the chest but I was swift to grab its legs. I lifted both from the ground and threw them as high as possible. I felt a sudden kick from behind, disorienting me. I blindly felt around for anything that surrounded me and I pushed them them away. I was quick to get up and attack what kicked me from behind, charging at it head on like a bull. I tackled it to the ground and overpowered it. I elbowed it across the face, feeling the creature go still from underneath me. I turned my attention to the rest of them, raising my hands to lift them up.

"Woah!" I said in amazement.

Even at a disadvantage, my abilities only improved. I rarely lifted more than five people at a time and I usually needed a boost or some form of assistance to do it. But here I am, lifting over ten people with no boost or assistance whatsoever. In a disadvantaged state as well.

"I've seen enough." I heard a deep voice announce. The figures disappeared and gravity returned immediately.

A smaller panel opened which led me out into the hallway. I practically staggered to the shuttle and pressed the button to lead me down to the training room.

"Toni?" I called out to her.

"I'm here." She scrambled up to me. "Are you ok?"

"Yeah. Exhausted is all."

"You should rest." She helped me to a corner and helped me to sit on the floor.

"Thanks."

"Hang in there. It will be over soon."

I rested my head against the wall and sleep took over.

I was jolted awake by a loud voice filling the room.

"Congratulations to everyone. Making it into the Super Force as a candidate is a significant achievement on its own but making it this far is even more commendable." The voice said.

"It sounds like..." I said aloud.

"Pretty sure it's him." Toni agreed with me. She extended a hand to me and pulled me up.

"Unfortunately, we are unable to recruit everyone though we would be more than happy to have you all become a part of the Super Force."

"The names I call are those who are still in for a place at the Super Force."

I listened while he called out several times. Toni's was first, then a few random names followed, my name came after followed by Yvonne's. Jacqueline's name was called last.

"Unfortunately for the rest of you, you couldn't meet up so it is the end of the road to the Super Force. You must all be gone by tomorrow."

"We made it!" Toni said, relief in her voice.

"Yeah. We're one step closer."

"One step closer."

We gathered at the common room, sore and tired but happy. We had conquered yet another test. It may have been more difficult than the last test but we were once again victorious.
