Butterfly (Bucky x Reader)

To the rescue

Bucky felt panic right down to his core. He knew he shouldn't have left on the mission so close to Hydra's last botched attempt to capture you. No, this wouldn't do. He made up his mind, he's taking you to one of his safe houses that he built out in the woods away from people. The only ones who knew about it were the team, and it was definitely not on any of the Avengers files or Shields files. It was under his name, yes, but it looked like just a piece of unworked land. But deep in the lands there was a large state of the art cabin, with a wrap around porch, free electricity thanks to Tony, the internet if needed again thanks to Tony, and a landing pad for a jet. The cabin had five rooms and overlooked a lake, and there was no road to speak of. He just had to get enough fresh food to last a few weeks until the team has this mess taken care of.
The jet barely landed when the back opened up. An explosion started on the main floor and Bucky's heart was in his throat.
"No!" he exclaimed as he started running towards the compound with Steve, Loki, and Sam at his side. Two more jets landed but Bucky wasn't paying attention to them. He wanted to find you and keep you safe. A second explosion hit and Bucky ran faster, to the point the only one that could keep up was Steve. They got inside and Bucky and Steve both grabbed two and three gasmasks each.
"I've got Nat, Seraphina and Wanda. Go get your girl" Steve said as another explosion rocked the building. Bucky took the stairs two at a time while putting on his mask and saw Hydra agents putting down more gas bombs. He reached down with his vibranium arm and stuffed one of the bombs into one of the Hydra agent's mouth, and then knocked the second one out. The one started clawing at his face and Bucky let him go long enough to watch him spit it out and turn it off. He went on comms.
"Hit the button on top, it disarms the bombs" he said to the entire team, then he knocked out the other Hydra agent. He turned off the other bomb before a fourth bomb shocked the building. Bucky ran into the hole that went into the office and he saw the bomb was about to go off. He leapt and hit the top and the gas stopped coming out. For good measure he threw it out of the room and stomped into his office. He pulled back the Hobbit, having a hard time to see with the gasmask on. The room opened and it was full of gas. He rushed in and grabbed you, you screamed at first, but finally he thought you were safe. He put the gasmask on you and he picked you up. As promised, he carried you like a princess out of the room, stopping long enough to grab your phone. He headed down the stairs, no further bombs rocking the building. He saw Pietro holding several of the small orbs that were all disarmed. Steve was walking out of the main lab with no mask on, but one on Seraphina, Nat and Wanda. Hydra agents were tied up and looked defeated.

With no more gas visible Bucky ripped off his mask with his face contorted in rage.
"You thought you could take my girl?!" he demanded.
"She's just a mission" one of the Hydra agents said back.
"I should kill you" he hissed. "You could have killed her."
"Maybe if she comes quietly..." he started to say back when Loki knocked him on the back of the head with his scepter. He fell forward onto his face completely knocked out.
"What? We were all thinking about it" Loki said.
"You bastards! You could have killed my baby!" Nat started screaming and running at the Hydra agents. Seraphina let out a cry and Nat calmed down immediately. "Oh my precious little girl, you're okay. Mommy just needs to deball a few men, it's okay. I have a knife" Nat started reassuring her baby girl.
"I'll bite them," you said, taking off your mask.
"Put your mask back on, doll" Bucky put it back on your face. "No, you're not biting anyone unless it's me," he added.
"I want to hurt them," you said softly. Bucky chuckled and kissed the side of your neck so you could feel it.
Bruce and Tony came in a few minutes later looking a bit worse for wear. Tony stepped out of his suit and looked around.

"Thank God Pepper wasn't here" he said.

"Oh my God, thank God you're okay" Bruce came running to Nat and enfolded his family into his arms. Vision went to Wanda and held her close, putting his hands on her stomach.
"We need to get rid of these bombs, and disarm them for good," Tony huffed.
"I'm getting groceries and I'm leaving for a few weeks. We are going off grid" Bucky announced.
"We should all get off grid" Steve agreed.
"I'll get a construction crew in here, and have Shield protect the compound and make sure there's no more snakes.
"You're not going alone" Loki told Bucky who glared at him.
"No, he's not," Steve agreed.
"I'll order enough groceries for a month, that should give Tony plenty of time" Sam took out his phone and started ordering food on his app.
"I didn't say you guys were coming," Bucky nearly snarled.
"That's too bad, because it's your girl they are after. We are coming" Sam snapped back.
"She's going to need her kindle and a few books and some clothes. You can't keep carrying her everywhere" Loki rolled his eyes.
"That's my fault. I asked for princess treatment" you said, your voice muffled by the mask.
"Well I can't have you walking across this debris. We are going upstairs and we are getting packed since bird brain has the groceries covered. And Sam, make sure there's lots of strawberries" Bucky reminded him.
"I need my purse" you said softly.
"Where is it, doll?" Bucky asked.
"In my desk" you told him.
"Okay, I'm carrying you upstairs, I'm kissing you, and then I'm going to get your purse. You'll pack as much as your heart desires and I'll bring it all down to the jet. I've got a hot tub, so you can bring your swimsuit" Bucky said softly, starting to walk back upstairs, letting the team sort things out for themselves. Steve was quick to follow as well as Loki, as though they didn't trust that the building was fully cleared yet.

You got up to your room and secretly ordered four more strawberry refreshers so you would have your fill before landing in this secret. Bucky had kept his promise, he let you take off you mask after he set you down on your feet and he kissed you senseless. He left strict orders not to leave the suite until he comes back. Which was fine with you, you went and just started packing all of your belongings. You texted Jennifer that you were going off grid for a bit, and explained something bad happened at work and Bucky was taking you away for a bit. She replied that Steve already told her about the bombings and that you all had to get away for a bit. He promised to text and call every day, so she had that to hang on to. You promised to text daily. After filling four suitcases with clothes for both you and Bucky, you also made sure to grab toys and food for the cats. Your order from Starbucks came in and you wanted to run downstairs to grab it, but Bucky walked in at that moment with the tray with four trenta drinks.
"Princess" he grinned, holding your purse over his shoulder.
"My my, you look very dashing" you said with a smile.
"Did you pack everything?" he asked curiously.
"I still have to get to the bathroom and my books and electronics" you flushed.
"I'll start bringing this downstairs, but first..." he set down the drinks and your purse. He pulled you close and brushed his lips against your own. "Thank God you're safe" he said, leaning his forehead against your own.
"It was all thanks to you" you reminded him.
"Thank you for calling me, and trusting me" he said. Bucky looked a little pale, now that the full outcome became evident. They were leaving no prisoners this time.
"Of course I trust you, you're the love of my life" you told him.
"As you are mine" he said, his voice hoarse. His lips brushed against your own again, and he pressed into you more to deepen the kiss. You reached up and held him by the back of his head and pulled him down to your height, before opening your lips to him. His tongue started dancing with your own. You let out a little moan, while Bucky groaned. You heard a buzzing sound and pulled back from the kiss.
"Fucking assholes" Bucky pulled out his phone. "Look, this is my hideaway that's off grid. I want to build you something better, but for now this will have to do" Bucky told you. We are going to a secret location and you'll be able to be yourself no matter what" he brushed your hair out of your face. "I'll also replace the flowers" he gave a slight grin.

"I'm holding you to it" you giggled. "I loved the roses, they really did make my day" you told him. "We were supposed to see the babies tomorrow" you said with a slight frown.
"We will see them when we get back, doll. Right now getting you somewhere safe is more important to me" he said and got down on his knees and he kissed your belly. He frowned and pulled up your shirt so he could have skin to skin contact, and kissed your belly again and you felt the flutters again. Bucky looked up at you with unshed tears in his eyes.

"Was that our babies?" he asked.
"They missed you too" you nodded.
"I'll always protect you little ones. Daddy's here, you're safe" he spoke to your stomach which was very endearing to watch. "I love you so much, you'll never understand it. Just like I love your mom" he said.
"And I love you too" you smiled at him. "I always will" you said.
"And?" he asked, knowing you had something else to say.
"Tell Tony and Shuri to work on that leg, I'm changing you to be like me" you finally gave in. Bucky stood up and kissed you hard on the lips.
"My mate, my everything" he said with love in his eyes.
