Butterfly (Bucky x Reader)

Alarm

Breakfast was quick with French toast, yogurt and fruit to enjoy. Bucky seemed a bit on edge about leaving the compound, but you figured you weren't going to be leaving so everything should be fine. Tony talked about the renovations that he was adding to the compound, and of course the additional security and cameras outside. He was still upset about the Hydra agents making it past his security team. You half listened for a while, thinking about what Bucky wants. He was dressed in his tactical uniform for the meal, but that just made you hungry for him more than anything. Once you were done eating, you put your hand under the table and onto his thigh and gave a soft squeeze. Bucky's hand went under the table and intertwined his fingers with yours, deciding to eat with his other hand instead.
As soon as everyone was done eating, it was time to go. Bucky gave you a long, toe curling kiss that made you almost pant with need, and he promised to be home as soon as possible. You knew that he would keep that promise, because he never let you down before. You walked back upstairs with Wanda who promised to visit around lunch time, and you promised to have both your starbucks ordered and brought it to sip after lunch. It was something at least to look forward to. Vision was also on a mission so you knew she would be worried for most of the day, and more if the mission lasted longer.
You worked hard on finishing Bucky's report before starting on checking everyone else's. There was quite a bit backed up, and you knew that everyone was depending on you, so you used your laser focus with music playing in the room for noise.
You heard a knock at the door and you looked up with blue light prescription glasses perched on the end of your nose. You were taken completely off guard, having lost track of time.
"Hey" Nat smiled at you, carrying Seraphina in one arm and a bouquet of flowers in her other arm. They were red and pink roses and you gushed at the sight. There was at least two dozen in her hand.
"Oh my land" you got up and went to her, taking the flowers. You took a deep inhale and stepped back. "Come on in mama" you told Nat as you went to cut the ends off the roses and add water to the vase in the room.
"I was wondering if you were going to come up for air, you know, take a break?" Nat teased.
"I forgot, I've been working on the reports. There's a lot to get caught up on" you admitted.
"I figured. Miss Seraphina was looking for you earlier since she didn't get held at breakfast time" she said with a sly smile.
"Well we can't have her miss out on cuddles, can we?" you giggled. You finished cutting off the tips and put the roses into water on your desk. They are beautiful and really made the room smell beautiful. You walked over to where Nat had taken a seat, and gently took Seraphina from her and held her close.
"You really are a natural" Nat complimented you.
"She's just an easy baby to hold" you giggled as you bounced her a little bit, moving from one foot to the other. She reached up and grabbed a handful of hair and made little gurgling noises. "She's so beautiful Nat" you said, adoring the little baby in your arms.
"I'm blessed with her," she sighed happily. "Did you need any help with the reports?" she asked.
"No, enjoy maternity leave" you giggled.
"I'm just not sure I'm doing everything right. I've read so many books, and watched so many parenting videos. I really don't want to mess this up. She's so small and frail" Nat worried her lip between her teeth.
"You're a new mom. This takes time, and I'm sure she will be so loved, there is nothing you can do wrong" you proclaimed. "Those parenting books though, when you're done with them, can I borrow them?" you asked with half a laugh. "Because I have no idea of what I'm doing" you admitted.
"Didn't you ever babysit?" Nat asked in surprise.
"No, I held babies a few times, but I've never actually been alone with one before" you admitted. "I wouldn't know where to start, and I have three on the way. I don't know how we will manage" you expressed your concerns.
"Listen, you have lots of aunties and uncles that will be right here in the building. Wanda, and Pepper will have their babies more than likely before you, and there's going to be a daycare and everything that we need right here. Hell, Tony probably is going to hire more medical staff just in case so we have nothing to worry about" Nat assured you. "And I'll be more tenured, so there's that as well. Miss Seraphina is going to love playing with all the new babies coming" she grinned.
"She's going to be a badass princess," you giggled. "She's already a princess" you corrected yourself.

"She's our little miracle," Nat smiled. "But yes, she's going to learn how to defend herself early in life. But we are also talking about putting her in dance classes. I thought about ballet, but I don't want her worried about her weight since that's what I went through. I just want her to make friends and feel energized. If she doesn't like it, maybe some art classes or something."
"I think it's a great idea to make sure she's socialized, and has hobbies. Self defense though, I have to agree is a big one. There's so much that we deal with on a daily basis in this world, it would be good to be able to protect yourself," you agreed with her. An alarm went off on your phone and you put Seraphina on your hip as you went over to your phone. You saw it was time to order the drinks so you used your non-dominant hand to start ordering for you and Wanda. "Did you want a coffee or anything?" you asked Nat.
"Sure, whatever you're having. I would normally say coffee, but that looks good" she pointed to your mostly finished drink on the desk.
"It's so good," you admitted. "It's a strawberry refresher. They also have a berry blast, I was thinking of trying it"
"Sign me up" she chuckled.
"Alright, done" you said and ordered it to be delivered. Your phone said twenty minutes, but you figured it might be a little bit more with lunch time traffic. You put your phone down and walked back to Nat who was standing up. You handed her back Seraphina and she cuddled her baby close.
"I'll see you at lunch, we are just going to do a quick diaper change" Nat kissed her baby on top of her head.
"See you soon" you waved as she left. You sat back down and looked at your flowers again. You saw the note at the top, and all it said was "With all my heart, I'm yours". You smiled again, thinking he had no idea how much of your heart was with him.

During lunch you stopped only to go get your drink orders and came back. It was just you, Nat, Bruce, Wanda, Seraphina, and Tony at the table. You felt bad, not having thought to ask the guys if they wanted anything, but they didn't seem to mind. Wanda and Nat promised to come back to visit you later and make you take a break after lunch was over and you headed back upstairs.

While you were working you heard a few pings on your phone and you finally took a look at it. It was from Bucky.

Bucky: Hey gorgeous, how are you doing?
You: Good, just working away. How is the mission going?

You:(attached image of roses and note)
Bucky: It's going okay. Might be a late night, but I'm home tomorrow with Steve. We are trying one day on, one day off.

You: I love the roses, you'll get to enjoy them tomorrow too :) <3

You: Aww, well that's okay. I'll make sure the bed is nice and warm for you when you get home.

Bucky: Doll, do me a favor and wear that little red number to bed.
You: You won't be able to enjoy it, lol. I have to get up early, remember?
Bucky: Not as early as you think. You're supposed to be taking it easy, remember?
You: Maybe. Who's on the mission with you.
Bucky: Loki, Thor, Steve, and Sam. Bird brain is giving me a headache, and Loki keeps telling me about different herbs I can make tea with for you.
You: Can you ask him to make me some? I need something for my stomach. It's a little upset today. :(

Bucky': Of course doll, I'll ask him right away.

You: Now get back to work and be safe. Come back in one piece <3

Bucky: Get those lips ready for me, because when I get home the first thing I'm doing is kissing you.

You giggled and put your phone back down again, deciding to focus on work again. You could feel movement in your womb, like little flutters. You reached your hand down and you could feel them on the palm of your hand. You decided not to tell Bucky about that quite yet, since you wanted to tell him in person, and have him experience it firsthand. You received an email from Doctor Cho and saw that you had an appointment tomorrow, and you were glad that Bucky would be there with you for it. You knew he wanted to experience everything with you at the same time.
An alarm went off in the building and suddenly all the windows were closed by steel plates and your door closed and locked. You shrieked and tried calling Wanda to see what was going on. You felt panic filling you as you tried to reach out.
"Y/N?" Wanda finally picked up.
"What's going on?" you asked her, completely confused and scared.
"We don't know, but we are all locked in our rooms. Tony and Bruce left, Nat's with me. I wish you were here" Wanda said. "Don't leave that room until we come to get you okay?" she said.
"Yeah" you gulped and tried not to panic.
