They found my family? Could I trust these people to lead me to them?
"You found my family?" I questioned them.
A long pause filled the room with silence, the room felt scary and lonely again.
"Hello?" I called out.
"Megan."
"Yes?" I was looking around the room crazily, hoping to find out who it was.
"Meeegan." The familiar voice repeated themselfs.
"Wake up." They continued.
My eyes slowly opened to Dan.
"Holy shit." I sat up so fast and embraced Dan into my arms.
"Are you okay?" He laughed while he hugged me back.
"I'm fine, just a bit scared." I truthfully stated.
"You shouldn't be!" He yelled excitedly as he helped me out of bed.
"Why do you sound so happy." I joked around.
"You'll see." He smirked.
He helped me down the stairs since I was still sore and in pain from everything that has happened.
The father, Mark and his daughter Jessica were downstairs sitting on the couch. Mrs. Willow stood behind them, probably to scared to show her face. I gave her a death glare before I noticed that Mark was looking at me strangely and spoke out,
"Your sister, her name is Emily right?" He questioned.
I didn't speak up. I stayed quiet. I didnt know where this was going and hoped that it wouldnt end badly.
"Well, Emil-" Mark started but was cut off. The front door started to shake, those monsters were only looking for one thing. A feast.
The hinges broke off causing thousands of zombies to enter the home.
I panicked, I thought quickly and grabbed at the side of my waist, I was grabbing at nothing. Looking down, I totally forgot that they had my gun and knife.
'Shit.' I mumbled to myself. Looking up at Dan he looked as worried as everyone else in the house. He quickly grabbed at my arm and dragged me upstairs. A few of those beasts followed us, but never caught up to us. He darted straight for the first door and locked it behind us. Hoping that would keep us safe for a while, until he figured out a plan to get us out of there.
The screams downstairs were horrifying. I could hear Mark yelling, telling everyone that its every man for themselfs. What about that little girl though? She wouldnt be able to handle this all by her self. Hopefully someone gets her out of here and finds shelter. Our door was shaking and banging, the other side of it were moaning bastards that wanted us for dinner.
"Dan, what do we do?" I whispered.
He looked shocked, frightened, and paralyzed. I shook his shoulders, trying to get him to come back to reality, but he wouldnt budge.
I hurridly rushed over to a window and opened it, taking the screen out as quickly as I could. Looking down, it seemed fine. No zombies, and it was clear for us to jump.
"Snap out of it Dan, lets go!" I panicked when he still wouldnt budge.
Running over towards him, I looked into his beautiful stunning blue eyes that looked petrified. I cupped my hands over his face and tried to 'wake him up'. I started crying out his name, hoping he would respond. He wouldnt. I felt the tears running down my face as I leaned in and kissed him. At first, he didnt budge but after a few seconds, I could feel his body relax and he kissed me back. His soft lips went in rythem with mine as we forgot about what was happening at this exact moment. Backing off, I noticed that his smirk was huge.
"Dan?" I questioned him.
"Lets go Megan." He smiled and winked at me.
We made our way over to the window, he hopped down first so that he could try to catch me. As soon as he hit the ground, the door flew open. Those creatures were heading right towards the window. Frightened, I jumped. Landing on top of Dan.
"Ow!" he yelled out, "couldnt you have waited for me to get up?"
I pointed up towards the window after I hoped off his back. He tilted his head up towards the window, his eyes grew ten times bigger as he noticed the zombies gathered around the window.
"Good call." he mumbles out. "Now lets get out of here."
I nodded, agreeing to his plan as he escorted me out of the back yard and onto the street. We walked for what felt like hours. The sun was beating down on us, the pavement was moving before my very eyes, and my feet ached with sadness and pain.
"Can we take a break soo-" I stopped myself from talking and covered my hands with my mouth.
"Oh my god!" I continued exitedly.
Dan gave me a strange look before I pointed down the street of Kernwood Ave.
"My old house was down here!" I yelled as I ran off down the street, Dan trying to keep up.
