No one knew where we were or where we were going but we had to get out of there.
I noticed that not many houses resided here, just one huge factory where we were kept and a forest of trees. Occasionally youll see a house or two but after walking for hours I've only seen about 5 houses.
"Guys?" Dan questioned as he stopped all of us in our path.
"I think I know where we are." It sounded like he was questioning himself.
"How? Its just a bunch of trees were walking past?" Emily asked with attitude. She must have been tired of all the walking because she normally doesnt give attitude unless it was needed.
"Megan the store we found you at is only like a couple blocks away. The treefort must be that way somewhere." He pointed over to the left.
"We have nothing to lose, plus the treeforts nice." I stated as I started to lead the group to the left.
Dan ran up next to me and walked along side me as everyone else followed behind us.
"Wow." Dan whispered out. "This is rare. We get to talk again." he smiled as his hand became intertwined with mine.
"I guess so." I smiled up at him.
"You were going to tell me something else before Mason went back into the tunnel for the girls." I reminded him.
"I was?"
I nodded my head, but he still looked confussed. After a few seconds his facial expression changed.
"I'll tell you once we get to the treefort, okay?"
I agreed by nodding my head again.
After that we both went silent, listening to the leaves crackle beneath our feet and the sound of people quietly talking behind us.
"Do you think its going to rain?" Emily asked as she tapped my shoulder.
I looked up at the sky as the clouds began to look duller than before.
"It might but I-"
"I was right! There it is!" Dan yelled, interrupting my convosation with Emily.
He let go of my hand and ran to the tree like a little boy running into a playground.
I would have ran with hin but with my injuries I had to restrain myself.
I noticed that the treefort now looked wet and abandoned in. Moss had already started to grow over the wood and the latters werent in their normal postitions.
How long were we even away for? I questioned myself.
"After you." Dan offered as he helped me up onto the latter.
When I got to the top I immediately plopped down onto the couch to rest.
Emily came up behind me, then Samantha, Dani, Jessica, Mason and Dan.
Our group was becomming smaller and smaller, I didnt want to lose anymore people this was all we had left.
Emily came over and sat on the other side of the couch as Dan propped my leg up onto a table and grabbed us a blanket.
"Theres two bedrooms and a couch that pulls out. Who wants what?" He offered up.
Mason and Dani asked for one of the bedrooms, but offered to share with Samantha so that we could fit everyone into a bed.
Dan and I took the smaller bedroom while Emily and Jessica got stuck with the couch. They didnt seem to mind it and honestly at this point I wouldnt either. We have all been through so much bullshit, sleeping in a bed or even on a couch would be perfect.
I walked over into the small bedroom as soon as we made sleeping arrangments and plopped myself down onto the matress.
"It feels so nice to actual relax and sleep in a bed again." I whispered out loud as Dan sat on the bed next to me and laughed.
"What?" I smiled as I got under the covers.
"Nothing nothing." He responded sarcastically.
"So Dan, what did you have to tell me?" I asked as he tucked himself in beside me.
*DANS P.o.v.*
I got really close to Megan and brought her into a hug.
"Dont be mad." I told her with a serious look on my face.
She smiled up at me and responded with a, "how could I be mad at you?"
"Trust me, you might get a little upset."
She narrowed her eyes at me, waiting for the secret to come out.
"In elementary school, you were bullied, right?" I asked, even though I already knew the answer. I didnt know how to tell her straight up.
She hesitated for a moment before quiety answering with a nod.
"I'm sorry."
"Dont be, its not your fault." She tried to reassure me. But I knew the truth.
"Megan. It was a boy named David, wasnt it?"
"I think so." She admitted giving me a strange look.
"My real name is David, I was the one who bullied you all those years. I'm so sorry, I was stupid, young and dum-"
"Dan?" She interrupted me.
My voice went all rapsy, "yes?"
Thats when she moved away from our hug and turned away from me, laying on her right side.
"Goodnight."
