"Samantha?"
"Who are you? How do you know my name?" I was disappointed that she didnt remember me. I do look different from when I was twelve years old though. So I understood why she didnt remember me.
"Its Megan? Emilys sister? You guys use to play together all the time when you were little." I smiled at the memories that were replaying inside my head.
"Megan?" She whispered dropping her weapon to the ground. You could tell she was holding back tears, her hands immediatly covered her mouth.
"We didnt think you were even alive!" She screetched with happiness.
I smiled, knowing that she was excited to see me was the greatest feeling in the world.
"Wheres Logan?" She spoke up suddenly.
The smile on my face formed a frown as I looked at my feet. I forgot that Logan had passed away. All this time I have been trying to get my revenge on those monsters for taking him away from me.
"Lets just say, he saved my life." I responded. Hoping that she would understand.
She gasped softly, "Megan, oh my god. Are you alright? How are we going to tell Emily."
I gave her a confussed look, "Emily? I havent even been able to find her, let alone think about how to tell her that Logan had passed away." I responded.
Smidges eyes popped out of her head. A grin slowly began to form to her face.
"Follow me." She smirked. Pushing us aside, she ran out of the room, and down the stairs like her old little self when she heard the ice cream truck outside.
Looking up at Dan, he looked so confussed.
"Are you okay?" I asked.
"Uh, yeah. Whose Logan?"
I chuckled, really? Was Dan getting jealous? He looked unpleased with me for a moment before I told him that Logan was my older brother. After that, his cheeks flushed like a red tomato and he awkwardly smiled,
"Oh." was his only response.
I giggled as I took his hand, "come on were going to lose Smidge."
************
Smidge took us to her house, which was only right down the street from our house. Her house was all boarded up and looked prepared to fight off any zombies that might enter. They had spikey wires set up all along the houses yard, Sams dad probably set that up so that their dog Twister could have a chance to be able to play outside.
"Wait till my mom sees you, she'll be so happy!" She announced excitedly.
I havent seen anyone close to me for seven years, I didnt even think half of them made it this far. But I'm so glad that they did. When I entered the house, everything looked different. All around the house, their stuff was piled up against doors and stairs. They use to keep this place clean, the walls still had the family photos placed on them. Samantha with her brother Kyle, a whole family photo, pictures of Twister. It was cute to be able to still see family photos of a family that was so close to mine before the world fell apart.
"Megan, I'd like you to meet our group." Samantha talked me out of my thoughts.
"My mother, Amerie." She pointed then continued, "Kyle, my brother. This is Melony. Then we have this girl, she looks really similar to you Megan." She smiled. "Her name is Emily."
Time stood still as I saw my sister turn the corner. Her face looked shocked to see me, and I think my face looked the same.
"Megan." She whispered out and started crying. Emily wasnt the type of person to hold her tears back. She usually just lets them flow out like a water fall. I, on the other hand would hold them back. I didnt have any words to say. My seven years of searching was finally over with.
She looked so badass, the black leather jacket she was wearing, her hair tied up in a bun, and the black skinny jeans she wore just screamed 'BADASS OVER HERE.'
Last time I saw her she wore pink pony shirts, with bellbottom jeans and her hair was curly and fell to her shoulders. But now, with her being 16, I could tell her hair was still a curly mess. It seems a lot longer now than it did before.
Emily ran up to me and hugged me so tightly, I hugged her back and started to let the tears run down my cheeks.
When we finally seperated apart, I gave her a smile and said,
"How the hell are you taller than me?" She smirked and hugged me again.
