*Megans pov*
"Maybe our immune systems are trying to fight against the zombie virus?" Dan spoke up.
Could this be possible? Our bodies wouldnt be able to fight it off unless, we all had the virus within us already.
"If thats the case, wouldnt we all be infected with the virus? Like before we even die?" Emily announced my thoughts outloud.
All of our eyes wondered around the room, from person to person questioning what the hell was happening.
"It would make sense, if we die without being bit we turn." Blake confirmed.
"But Masons not dead?" Smidge's face scrunched up with confussion.
We all looked over towards Mason. His eyes full of fear.
"What are we going to do with him?" Dani butted in.
"What do you mean?" Emily asked.
"He just attacked me! We cant have him walking around here like nothing happened!" Dani yelled across the room.
"I'm still human!" Mason screamed back.
"You guys cant lock me up like a monkey! It could happen to any one of us!" The last part kept on replaying inside of my head. Hes right. If its not happening to him randomly it could happen to any one of us.
Thats when Cody interrupted our fear, he pulled the sheet open with an apple in his hand.
"I know you all are busy and what not but we need more supplies."
Dani threw a pillow at him as he ducked.
"Nice try." He grinned as he took a bite of the last apple in the house.
"We're in the middle of something," Emily pointed out.
"Not that you would care or anything." Smidge sassed back with her arms folded over her chest.
Cody threw his arms in the air, "Almost killed me there officer with the sas youre giving." He chuckled.
I rolled my eyes, "We'll have to think of something later. Right now lets keep an eye on one another, I'll go get supplies." I headed out of the room and grabbed the small backpack that we used for runs, a knife, gun and some extra mags just in case.
"It looks like we might need more weapons and ammo too." Cody suggested hovering over my shoulder before sitting on the couch.
I gave him a death glare as he smirked back evily.
"Here let me help." Dan suggested as he grabbed some weapons.
"Could I come too?" Dani asked.
I sighed, "you know you guys dont have to tag along right?"
They both nodded their heads as Dan passed Dani a gun.
"Fine. Lets go." I mumbled as we headed down the ladders to the soft dirt below.
*Blakes Pov*
I made myself at home and sat onto the couch next to Emily and Cody. Apparently, it looked like Cody wasnt the most likeable guy around this place.
Seemed like everyone wanted nothing to do with him, well at least from what I have noticed.
"Want a tour?" Emily nudged me while smiling.
Her smile was very warm and welcoming, the type of smile that would brighten up your day no matter what. Even if you just got torn to shreds by zombies then Emily came in and smiled, you would probably feel ten times better instantly.
And her eyes? They shined like the sun. Green with a tint of blue, it actually suited quite nicely with her blond hair.
She giggled as she noticed that I was starring at her.
"Well?" She replied.
I awkwardly laughed as my hand came in contact with the back of my neck, slowly rubbing from side to side as I replied with a 'sure.'
She stood up then offered me a hand.
"Pft, I got this. Watch." I raised my hands in the air and showed her I could get off the couch without them.
I lifted up my hips off the couch and onto my feet. She rolled her eyes as she crossed her arms.
"Tadaaa. No handss." I sang.
She started clapping, "Wow, so impressive."
"Being sarcastic hm?" I smiled.
"Oh noo no, I'm being tooootally serious. I bet no one could pull off what you just did."
I heard someone sigh angrily, as I looked over Cody had his arms crossed over his chest.
"Real pathetic if I do say so myself." He chuckled.
I raised an eyebrow as I grabbed Emilys hand.
"Shall we?" I asked as I ignored Cody and had her lead the way.
"Bravo with the flirting my man." Cody clapped as Emily led me over to one of the side rooms.
*Emilys pov*
I tried offering a hand to Blake but he wouldnt take it, instead he responded with a "pft I got this. Watch." As his arms raised out in front of him, he shimmied his hips and body weight all to his legs and slowly stood up tall in front of me.
I noticed that Blake was taller than I was, and that was saying a lot considering that I am about 5'9. I'm guessing he was probably about four inches taller than me. But who really knows? I started to notice the little things on him, like his small freckles on his nose, his birthmark that laid on the right side of his neck. It wasnt huge but I noticed it. His dreamy eyes that starred right into mine.
Wait, woah, hold up, what was happening?
I have never looked at a boy like this, usually they all disquested me, they were all the same, pigs.
I cant be looking at Blake like this, no way in hell would I even consider dating a boy, even if the world was normal!
I wasnt gay, I didnt like girls in that way but guys were manwhores. I never want to trust one as much as Megan trusts Dan.
Dans not to bad of a guy, but thats because he was raised properly, right? With the way he treats Megan thats how it seems?
But we dont know anything about Blakes past. So I really needed to cool it, I cant be thinking about boys in a time like this. But no one said I couldnt flirt or lead him on, right?
"Tadaaa. No handss." He sang as I saw a smile appear across his face. I couldnt help myself but to smile back and start clapping over his achievement. "Wow, so impressive." I said as I rolled my eyes.
"Being sarcastic hm?" He asked as his smile seemed to grow bigger.
"Oh noo no, I'm being tooootally serious. I bet no one could pull off what you just did."
Thats when I heard someone snort loudly and angrily. It was Cody, what was his problem now?
"Real pathetic if I do say so myself." He chuckled.
Blake then grabbed my hand.
"Shall we?" He asked as we both ignored Cody's rude comment.
I walked him over to Dan and Megans room first.
"Room number one, Dan and Megans room."

Hey everyone! I'm glad I still have some people reading even though I barely update! I'll try to get it together though and make sure you guys have at least a chapter or two a week! The book already has almost 70 chapters! So prepare yourself for the end, I really am struggling on ending this book because I really enjoy writing it 😭 dont worry though, if this book ends there will be another one! -Megan
