The group headed down stairs as Kyle and I searched for a safe way to escape. Megan looked beat up and I didnt want anything else happening to her. Shes been through a lot. I have been too but not as much as her. I was living inside my house with barely any zombie activity for seven years. The only thing that hurt more than anything was losing my mother. I didnt have any time to greive about her death, so much has been happening ever since. I had to make sure that even though mother was gone, Kyle and I had to keep fighting.
"Did you find anything yet?" Kyle called out from the other side of the room.
"Not yet, its hard to look for places to escape from when half the room is covered in zombies."
"I hear ya!" Kyle yelled out.
After Kyle spoke out, you heard a loud clanking sound. Like chains clanking together.
"What was that?" Kyle whispered as he started making his way back over to me.
Then again a clanking sound echoed throughout the room.
I cautiously looked in every corner and space throughout the room.
Again, the clanking sound went off.
It was the zombies. Their chains were growing in size making it easier and easier to get us.
My eyes widened as I knew that we could be zombie food if we didnt get out right now.
"Kyle!" I yelled looking over at his direction.
He was inching his way closer and closer to me, he wasnt paying attention when one of the zombies grabbed at his ankles. He faught long and hard before he slipped and fell.
"Kyle we have to get out of here!" I ran over towards him, making sure the zombies couldnt reach me.
As I was approaching him, the chains clanked again and the zombies could now almost touch me. My back was against the wall as I tried squeezing my way through.
Kyles screams then hit my eardrums. I couldnt imagine the zombies tearing into him. I just needed to get to him, to save him.
"Samantha! Go! Go to the basement now!" Kyle demanded me in between his painful screams.
I could feel the tears form inside my eyes and started making their way down my cheeks.
"Smidge! Go now before the chains click again!"
Without thinking, my body carried me back to the door of the basement.
"Smidge! Smidge! Are you okay? Hurry!" I saw Dani at the top of the stairs. Her hand was extended out for me to grab onto.
As soon as I got close I reached for her hand as the chains clicked again.
Dani firmly grabbed my hand and pulled me out before the zombies could touch me.
We both fell backwards down the stairs and tumbled all the way down to the floor.
Dani moaned in pain as she grabbed her shoulder.
"Are you okay?" She asked as she scrunched up her face in pain.
"Uh I think so." I responded softly.
"Wheres Kyle? What was happening?"
I paused for a moment, I had to think about what happened. I couldnt really remember each detail, it seemed like it was all a dream.
"Sam, if you dont wanna talk about it you dont have too. We have a way out of here though." Dani reassured me.
I felt a glimmer of hope spark up inside of me as she pointed over to a small tunnel.
We both helped each other off of the floor and made our way over to the tunnel.
The chains then began to rattle like crazy, clanking and banging against each other.
Dani went straight inside of the tunnel but I wanted to look back. Couriousity killed the cat because the zombies were now making their way down the stairs. I quickly acted and headed inside of the tunnel behind Dani. The hole was to small for thw zombies to fit through which was a good thing. But there were to many zombies for Kyle to survive. I thought to myself as I slowly became depressed.

I saw a light at the end of the tunnel, after about a half hour crawling throughout the small crawl space.
All my emotions were attacking me at once, I felt the joy of finally being free. Well, for now before another zombie attack.
I reached the light and crawled out to find myself outside in an abandoned yard.
The grass was dying and trash was cluttering almost every inch of the yard.
Refridgerators, washer machines, tvs and so much more were just dumped back here. Dan soon crawled out after I did and stood by my side, holding onto my arm so that I could have support just in case something happened.
Emily and Jess came out and looked disgusted.
"Who would dump all this nice stuff here!" Emily stated angerly.
"Emily, we have bigger problems." I announced laughing.
"Shhh." Dan said as he gathered us all together and lined us onto a wall.
"Dont. say. anthing." He demanded us through his teeth.
