*Megans p.o.v*
Jess led us back to the cash register and said that everyone would meet up here. I kept my eyes on her though. She shouldnt be trusted and I now know this. She looked wo innocent and frail, but seeing the barrel of thag gun being pointed at one of my 'little sisters' made my heart sink. She lost all of my trust.
"Megan! Your okay!" Dan shouted out as he hugged me from behind. After my hug he moved on to give Samantha a hug and make sure she was okay.
"Everything good?" Emily asked.
I wanted to tell her about Jess, what I had seen her do. My heart began to beat faster, my hands were sweaty and clammy, my face felt red as I felt the need to throw up.
Jessica saved me by shooting her own father, I thought just when I was about to tell Em.
She doesnt have anywhere to go, if you kick her out of the house, I mind as well just kill her right here, right now.
"Everythings cool." I stated calmly.
"You sure? You seem- tense?" She put her hand on my shoulder.
"Whats wrong?"
"I'll tell you later." Maybe. I thought, I just wanted Em to leave me alone at the moment. I dont trust Jess and think it would be safe to have her kicked out. But I would be putting her to her death if I did. I'll talk to her about it once we get back to the house.
We packed up everything we needed before we set off to return home.
We headed out the back door, where the crazy old man was located. He had left, but the person he was eating remained there. It was still moving. Its crazy how a living person was eating one of those zombies. Looking closer at the body laying on the floor, I noticed it looked like Logan.
"Emily?" I nervously whispered.
"Yeah?"
She made her way over towards me and gasped at the sight before her. Logan started moving, his groans and little noises echoed throughout my head. The pain from 6 years ago returned, its like watching his die all over again. Before I knew it a gunshot made my ears hear nothing but the sound of buzzing. Looking over, Jessica held a gun to my brothers head. Smoke exited out of the guns barrel.
The walk home was all a blurre. I couldnt remember a thing. But when we entered out room I was so happy that the day was over with.
"Finally." I said as I flew onto the bed and sprawled out on it.
Dan rolled his eyes as he came over and pushed my legs and arms together so he could have a place to lie down.
I looked up into his blue eyes and realized that we might be living in fear of our lifes our whole life.
"Dan?" I asked nervously.
"Yeah? Whats wrong?" His voice sounded concerned but also very shakey.
"Do you think zombies will always control the world? Do you ever just think that this might end?"
Dans face looked at me confussed about where I was going with the situation. But after he took some time to think about it he responded with an I dont know.
"Dan?"
"Yeees Megan?"
"I wanna tell you something, but dont say a word!" I pointed a finger at his face.
He chuckled as he nodded his head and swore on his life he wouldnt say a word.
I took a deep breath before telling him about the Jess and Sam situation.
Afterwrds he looked shocked. Looking up at the ceiling, not saying a word.
"We cant have her here!" His arms moved up into the air as he yelled out.
I put my finger to my lips and reminded him to shush!
He understood and tried to change the subject, "What about your arm? Is it healing okay?"
I totally forgot all about the pain that was continually making me miserable every so often. After being reminded of it, I felt so uncomfortable and unsanitary.
"Do you think you could fix it up for me?" Sitting up, I cupped my hand over my patched up shoulder.
"Of couse I can." We got out of bed and headed downstairs to put new equipment onto my cut. Jess was downstairs eating some canned corn on the couch. I gave her an evil look before I sat down and had Dam work on my arm. He didnt seem so please with her either. Every few seconds, you could see his eyes wonder over at her disquested.
After she was done, she headed to the basement. This was my time to talk to her about what went wrong.
Dan decided to tag along after he patched me up.
When we headed downstairs, Jess already had everything planed out, like she knew we would be down to talk to her.
"Look, before you get all crazy with me about Sam and I, you should see it from another point of view."
"And what view is that?" I asked.
Her head held down in shame as she shrugged her shoulders, "I dont know, I just dont want to be kicked out of the house. I dont have anywhere else to go."
