The NXT sports hall had been transformed. The halls leading up to the main arena had been decorated with glittery arrows and signs leading to the arena where the Wrestling Tournament Finals had taken place. Posters for each prom queen and king also lined the halls, the last of the advertisements before the vote took place later in the night. Glittery signs had also been placed on bathroom doors, and some of the changing rooms had been converted for those who wished to touch up during the night.

The arena itself barely resembled the wrestling hall it had previously been. The bleachers had been folded back against the wall for now, making room for the round tables, which were capable of seating up to ten. The ring had also been taken down, making room for the large dance floor, complete with space for a DJ. The only thing that remained from the Wrestling Tournament was the entrance stage, which now served as an entrance and the stage to crown the prom king and queen. The velvet chairs had already been set up to the left of the entrance, while students had their pictures taken to the right.

Balloons were scattered on the dance floor for now, while the tables had been elegantly decorated. Each had a black tablecloth, with white tableware, and red roses served as the centerpieces. Each table had assigned seating, and the names of the students seated were assigned to represent the group to which they belonged. The popular students had little diamonds and pearls around their names, while the jocks had their names written in the school colors, accompanied by a little emoji of the sport they played. The Darklings' name tags were in black, purple, and silver, while the lighter side was white and gold, with black writing. The Wyatts had their little tags, each with the logo, which they often doodled.

Serenity huffed when she entered through the stage, and anger overtook her almost instantly upon seeing another student wearing the same dress as her, a blonde girl whose name she couldn't remember. The other teen didn't seem to notice or even care; instead, she rocked the dress as if she were some queen ready to fight a war of her own. Only when Serenity got closer did she realize who the girl was, Tiffany Stratton, and she'd made little modifications to her dress, creating a slit in the skirt and decorating it with little beaded jewels to make it her own.

She soon looked around, hoping to find Roman. She saw him quickly, chasing after Alexa with a pair of shimmering balloons in hand. The game of chase appeared friendly, with both exchanging comments, Alexa even voicing that she'd use voodoo on someone. Serenity watched the pair so intently; she'd not noticed the pair of boys who'd come to stand on either side of her. Grayson Waller and Austin Theory both followed her line of sight, one chuckled while the other simply looked between Serenity and Roman as if trying to figure out what all the fuss was about.

"Ye know he has a date, right?" asked Grayson, his words enough to startle Serenity back to reality, forcing her daydreams away. Serenity soon looked at him, before briefly turning her attention to Austin upon sensing he was there. "What he said her name was ... Serenity ... no ... oh ... I got it ... Galina."

"Bro," called Matt Riddle before Justin had a chance to throw his comments into the game Grayson had started, no doubt a way to get back at Serenity for her behavior since senior year began, since Serenity had started attending the school. "Leave her alone; she's already suffered enough, man," he added, being the knight in shining armor she surely needed. "Come on, I'll be whatever you need for the night." With that, Riddle led Serenity away, toward the table they were both assigned to. The one closest to the teaching staff, and unfortunately for Serenity, on the opposite side of the hall to those she both wanted to be with and hated so much.

"Thank you," replied Serenity, her voice meek and quiet. She had so many hopes, dreams, and aspirations about what Prom would be like for her. Yet none of them had come true. Where she'd once been so sure she'd be the girl surrounded by hordes of friends, she was a loner now, with someone she barely knew and hadn't even realized was there until now. Her baby daddy wasn't hovering around her, attending to her every whim either, nor was he her date. Instead, he was playing games with friends, laughing, joking, and already having fun; he had a new girl on his arm and made sure she'd become his past one way or another.
