The soft morning light barely filtered through the curtains when a loud knock came at Sophie’s bedroom door.

“Wake up, lovebirds! The whole school’s probably texting, ‘Where’s Mason?’” Yasmin’s voice called out, teasing and relentless.

Mason groaned, tightening his arms around Sophie. “Yas, come back later. We’re... busy.”

“Nope! I’m coming in!” came the grin in her voice, followed by the door swinging open.

Yasmin’s eyes sparkled with mischief as she took in the scene, Mason and Sophie tangled in the sheets, fully clothed, half asleep, and clearly not ready for the day.

“Ew, you two! Get a room!” she teased, giggling as she pulled her phone out for evidence. “I swear, I’m sending this to the group chat.”

Sophie flushed but smiled, nudging Mason awake. “Looks like she won't leave until we go down.”

Before Mason could protest, they heard laughter from downstairs, Sophie’s parents were already awake.

As Mason and Sophie shuffled into the kitchen, still a little sleepy and holding hands, Sophie’s parents exchanged amused glances.

Sophie’s mom grinned and said loud enough for both to hear, “Well, well, looks like someone had a very long night.”

Mason cleared his throat awkwardly, looking anywhere but at Sophie’s parents.

Sophie’s dad chuckled, raising an eyebrow. “You two better make sure all you did was sleep, alright? No funny business under our roof.”

Sophie laughed, elbowing Mason gently. “See? We’re under their microscope.”

Mason shot Sophie a nervous smile. “Of course, sir. Just good, innocent sleep. Nothing else.”

Her mom smirked, folding her arms. “Innocent sleep, huh? You better make sure that's all to it, Mason.”

Mason grinned sheepishly. “Yes, Ma'am.”

Sophie shook her head, still smiling. “Mom, Dad, give us a break!”

Her dad laughed. “Nope. We’ll be watching you both like hawks.”

Mason squeezed Sophie’s hand, whispering, “I don’t mind the watch. As long as I’m with G.”

Sophie’s mom winked, “Good answer. But remember, the breakfast table is a family zone, not a romance zone.”

The playful teasing filled the room as Mason and Sophie settled down to breakfast, hearts light but still holding onto each other, knowing they had a lot to figure out, but glad to have this moment.
