Sophie laid out her prom dress on her bed while waiting for Yas. They agreed to prepare for the prom together same as last year. She was going to wear a long sleeveless red dress. It was simple but sexy. It had a slit on the side up to her mid thigh and was backless. She was not usually this daring but Yas has squealed with delight when she tried it on.
She remembered how Yas said that Mason would drool at her when he saw her wearing that dress. She had thought she will still be going with Mace during that time. It had seemed a long time ago when Yas and her went to shop for dresses. It had been a given then that they all would go together just like junior year but a lot had happened since then. She sighed looking at the dress. She took a quick shower since she knew that Yas would be arriving soon. She was blowing her hair when she heard the doorbell. She quickly went down and saw her mom had opened the door and Yas was carrying her dress and her make up kit with her.
"Do you girls need any help?" my mom asked smiling at us. "I can't believe your on your senior year now. How can time fly so fast? I still remember you both in your diapers." she said her eyes suspiciously shining.
"Mom, please. That was ages ago. Please don't start showing the photo album to Yas!" Sophie said teasingly but with affection. "We'll just be upstairs preparing."
Sophie and Yas hurriedly went up. Yas placed her dress and shoes in the closet and started opening her make up kit.
"I love your dress! I swear you would be the star of the prom once I finish with your hair and make up!" Yas said enthusiastically.
"Oh, please. I will just be the same as anyone else." Sophie said laughing at the earnest look from Yas.
"Don't underestimate my power!" Yas said, winking at her. She got out her curling iron and started curling Sophie's hair. Yas had always been good with hair and make up so Sophie let her do what she wanted.
"All done!" Yas said proudly. "Maybe I should just take hair and make up in college. Go on now, check the mirror"
Sophie was not really comfortable with a lot of make up on and Yas got that. She was glad to see that she went with a fresh face with rosy cheeks, flirty lashes and flushed lips. It was simple but when she wore her red dress she looked sexy and elegant.
"Thank you Yas! You're amazing!" she said smiling. "Whoa, you look hot!" she exclaimed when she saw Yas wearing an off shoulder black dress that showed her curves. She had smokey eyes and full red lips.
"Thank you!" she said and made a mock curtsy. "Shall we go my lady? I think I heard the doorbell rang. Hmm, I wonder if that's gonna be your prince charming?"
"Whatever Yas, let's go down." Sophie answered rolling her eyes.
They went down together and was surprised to see Chris and Mace downstairs. They both stared in awe as Sophie and Yas went down the stairs.
Mace's heart clenched when he saw Sophie. He was mesmerized as he watched her taking steps towards them. She was positively glowing and it almost felt like everything's normal like they were meant to go together. He smiled at her and sighed in relief when she shyly returned it. It was a small gesture but it was a start. He had asked Chris if he could go with him. He hated to be a third wheel but he wanted to be the first one to see Sophie and it was worth it. He wanted her to know that he was going alone and that Marissa was out of the picture.
"Hi Chris and Mace! You're both early!" Yas said smiling.
"You both look stunning! Don't you agree Mason?" Chris said in awe.
"Yea they do. Wow!" Mace said gaping, lost for words, his gaze directed at Sophie.
Yas smirked, "You haven't seen everything. Turn around Sophie." she said holding Sophie's hand and twirling her around.
Mason's eyes widened when he saw that the dress was backless. He was suddenly worried. It hurt to imagine Jason touching Sophie's back and he suddenly wanted to grab Sophie and cover her up.
"Are you guys going together?" Sophie asked looking at him and Chris.
"Yep," Yas answered. "We wanted to be charitable to Mace since he doesn't have a date."
Sophie was surprised at that. She had thought that Mace would still go with Marissa.
"There's only one girl for me but she has another date but don't worry I'm getting her back!" Mace said, smiling softly at Sophie.
The doorbell rang just then. He clenched his fists trying to calm himself since he knew Jason had arrived. Sophie's mom opened the door and Jason stood outside in a tux holding a corsage.
"Hi Jason!" Yas exclaimed. "Let's go Chris and Mace." Yas grabbed both their hands almost dragging Mason away since he couldn't tear his eyes away from Sophie. She exhaled when they finally went inside the limo hired by Chris.
"Chris, have you told the boys? Are they all ready?" Mason asked.
"Ready for what?" Yas asked and looked curiously at both of them.
"Nothing!" both Chris and Mason replied nervously.
"It doesn't sound nothing. You both look guilty! What the hell are you planning?" she exclaimed, her eyes widened at their expression.
"Aww, c'mon Yas. It's a surprise." Mason said sheepishly.
"Surprise for whom?" she asked looking at the both of them. "Oh, sh*t. It's for Sophie. What the hell are you planning Mace?"
"Geez, calm down Yas. You're right, it's for G. I'm getting her back. I'm not letting Williams steal her from me!"
"Well, you wouldn't have lost her if you hadn't been so stupid." Yas said sarcastically, raising her brows. "So what the hell are you planning? Please tell me you're not ganging up on Jason!"
"What the hell?!! Why do you think we would do that? That's
pretty low! G will kill me if I do something like that. Aside from the fact that the basketball team will probably get expelled!" Mason exclaimed."You're involving the whole team?" Yas asked in wonder.
"Won't you shut up already Mason?!" Chris said irritated. "We're not doing anything illegal Yas. Trust us and it's all for Mason."
Yas narrowed her eyes at the both of them and said "Suit yourself but I'm warning you that Sophie is stubborn. Just don't do anything stupid."
Mason raised his brow and replied,"I'm gonna look stupid but it will be worth it if I get Sophie back."

Hello everyone! I do hope I still have readers after the long update. lol. Anyway, training for a marathon is hell. I have to wake up early and run even during weekends. So I finished my first 32km run recently. It was hard but fulfilling. I'm gunning on joining the full marathon run in Athens and people have been telling me that I'm crazy since the terrain is hilly for a first marathon. Call me crazy but that's probably going to be my first and last 42km run so I might as well do it on the original marathon route, right?! Ahh, I must really be crazy. lol.Anyway, back to the story. This is actually the first part of the prom and I have some ideas next chapter but I need to sleep early since I have to run tomorrow so I had to cut it. Hope you still like it. Any ideas on what Mason is planning? Do you think it would be really stupid or something truly romantic? :) Apologies for any grammatical errors.
It would mean the world to me if you could please vote and leave a comment.
