I know it's been awhile since I have updated and I apologize for this. I'm not even sure if there are people still reading this. If there are, I am sincerely sorry for the long update. I am faced with a huge writer's block compounded by my very busy schedule recently. This chapter is probably filled with grammatical errors and I apologize in advance.

Sophie stared at the ceiling unable to sleep, thinking about what happened. Was she trying to protect herself by not accepting Mace? Could the two of them really work? She had known Mace since they were kids. Their parents had been close friends and she had grown close to both Mace and Yas. She knew that Mace cared for her even if he had teased her mercilessly. However, it hurt her to know that he could also easily go out on a date with Marissa. The mere thought of what happened hurt her terribly and she knew she would be devastated if it happens again.
"Was he trustworthy?" she kept asking herself. "Can she trust him not to hurt her?
These thoughts kept running through her mind all the while thinking about how happy she had also been when they went out. She knew she cared for him and she had desperately wanted him to love her but it came as a shock how much he can hurt her. She cringed at the thought that Mace has the power to hurt her so much but Jason has the power to heal her broken heart.
Thinking of Jason made her think of sunshine and flowers. He was like a light that brightens her day. He had never hurt her and he shared the same interest as her. Mason was all fire while Jason was like water. Jason calms and soothes her and it feels safe being with him. They were like puzzles that fit together and that thought is what's stopping her in giving in to Mason.
"Did she really want to play with fire?"
Just then, her cellphone vibrated and she was surprised to see Jason's name on the screen. It was as though Jason knew she was thinking of him.
"Hey, are you still awake? I've been thinking of you the whole day and I feel awful knowing I left you alone at the Prom. Can we talk?"
Sophie stared at her cellphone and smiled. Mace and Jason were so different. Mace can be so clueless and brusque but Jason is sensitive to her feelings. She had known Jason for a short time but he had been very respectful of her.
"Hey, it's late? Why are you still awake?" she replied.
"I can't sleep since I've been thinking of you."
"Seriously? Are you sure it's me not the girls lining up to get your attention?"
"Well those girls are probably thinking of me. I'm glad you know that I am such a catch. Do you want me to share all their messages to you?" he replied putting on smiley emoticons.
"Hmmm, well why don't you talk to those girls instead?" Sophie texted back.
"Awww, are you jealous?"
"Ha! Why should I be jealous?"
"You're right. You should never be jealous. You're the only one in my mind. I couldn't sleep thinking of you. I'm trying to read Newtonian Mechanics but my mind is not working. It's the first time I couldn't understand anything. My IQ dropped 40 points because of you." He replied putting on a pouty face.
"Well, isn't that what you wanted? You said girls don't like smart nerdy guys so more girls would love you. That's why you should be thanking me instead." She fired back.
"Well, a lot of girls already like me so I don't need more. You're the only one who's ignoring me even if I AM SUCH A CATCH."
"Hmmm, I'm not ignoring you. I like your brain."
"Awww, just my brain? You can have my body too. I swear it's a great body. You won't regret having it. I have the best body in the school. Believe me, I have incorporated science to make this perfect body."
"Hahaha! Are you giving your brain and body to me?"
"Well, not just my brain and body..."
"What else?"
"You can have everything Soph. My mind, my body and my heart. They're all yours for the taking. I just hope I can also have yours..."
Sophie's eyes widened at what she saw and was speechless. Was he being serious?
"Hey, are you ok?" Jason texted when he received no answer. "I sort of researched that line you know. Was it too sappy?"
"You are such a flirt." Sophie replied but smiled at what she said.
"Remember that I only flirt with you. The other girls flirt with me but you're the only one I flirt with."
"Hahaha. So should I be thankful for that?"
"Well, you should be grateful?"
"Ok, thank you."
"Well, thank me by going out with me tomorrow...."
Sophie stared at her cellphone and smiled. It was always fun talking to Jason and she loved talking to him but it made her feel guilty somehow.
"Let's go out please even if it's just as friends..." Jason added.
"Okay..." Sophie replied.
