Yasmin looked at Mason weirdly as he was whistling while getting ready for his date.
"You look cheerful going on a date with Marissa," she said, frowning "What movie will you be watching?"
"The new Star Wars movie."
"Really?! You hate science fiction." she replied, suprised.
"I don't."
"Yes, you do! We watched Passengers last time since Sophie insisted and you kept pointing out it's impossible for Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence to fix the ship." she insisted.
"You have to admit it's quite impossible to believe that the computers did not wake the whole crew given the criticality of the situation," he snorted. "I mean Chris Pratt was an engineer but he was not trained to fix that ship!"
"Hahaha! Sophie was so pissed since you kept on criticizing the whole movie and vowed never to watch with you again!" Yasmin said, smiling.
"Too bad, she's watching Star Wars with me again!"
"Huh? I thought you're going with Marissa?" Yasmin replied, confused.
"We're going on a double date with Sophie!" he replied. "Now if you'll excuse me Yasmin, I'll be going."
He left the house with Yasmin gaping at him. He arrived exactly 7pm at Marissa's house but he had to wait since she was still not ready.
"Where are you? The movie is starting in 15minutes!" Sophie texted.
"I'm still waiting for Marissa. She's not yet ready." Mason replied.
"What?! I thought we agreed to meet by 730. We are NOT waiting for you!" she texted back.
"Just a few more minutes." he replied through text.
"We're going inside. The movie is starting."
Mason was getting frustrated and was tempted to just leave Marissa. He was tapping his foot in frustration when Marissa finally went down.
"Let's go," he said rudely and stood up not even taking note of Marissa's slinky black dress. "We're going to be late. Sophie might not wait for us."
"Sophie? Why are we meeting her?" she asked, raising a perfect eyebrow.
"We're on double date. We'll be watching the new Star Wars movie." He replied gritting his teeth as they walked towards his car.
"I hate science fiction movies and I don't want to go on a double date with Sophie." she whined.
"Fine! I'll go alone if you don't want to come." he said controlling himself.
"Alright Mason, if you want to watch the movie then let's watch it." she capitulated, biting her lips and batting her lashes at him.
Mason did not notice since he was driving quite fast to reach the cinema. Upon arriving, they were informed that the movie has already started and the next show will start after 2 hours.
"That's too bad Mason. How about we watch another movie instead?" she said, pleased at the turn of events.
"I don't want to watch another movie. Let's just eat at the Japanese restaurant over there and wait for them." He said frowning and proceeded to the restaurant while texting Sophie.
"We're late and can't make it to the movie. We'll be waiting for you at the Japanese restaurant across the cinema." He texted her.
"Why do we have to wait for them?" Marissa complained. "I thought we're on a date."
"I told Sophie we'll double date." He replied irritated and glanced at his phone as soon as Sophie replied.
"Ok. Stop texting me! We're watching!"
"Just make sure you behave!" He texted back suddenly worried at what Jason will do.
They ordered food and Marissa tried to flirt unsuccessfully for almost 2 hours. Mason was not interested in what she was saying and was becoming worried that Jason might be doing something that he would not approve of. He was quite irritated that they were late because of Marissa.
"Wow, Mason, you have great biceps. How did you do that?" Marissa said, touching him seductively.
"I go to the gym," he said not noticing her since he was intently looking at the people that are starting to leave the movie theater.
Marissa glanced where he was looking at and saw Sophie and Jason approaching the restaurant. Smiling evilly, she grabbed Mason's face and proceeded to kiss him passionately. Mason was too shocked to respond and extricate himself. They both turned when they heard a gasped.
Sophie was looking at them, her face full of hurt and betrayal. She turned around and ran outside with Jason coming after her.
