Chapter 27

"Any news this week Blondy?" Daemon asked casually as Caroline decorated the boarding house for Elena's party.

Caroline scowled as she set down the decorations with an annoyed huff before turning to glare at the eldest Salvatore "You know you're lucky I tell you anything right? You fucked up your relationship with Dela big time, if you hadn't you wouldn't need me to feed you information."

Daemon scowled "Yes, I'm very lucky...Since when do you call her Dela?" He asked, catching onto that little detail.

"Since I realized that's what she prefers, I obviously still call her Elly a lot but I'm trying. She's my sister and unlike you I respect her choices just like she respects mine" Caroline snapped, over the summer she had made it clear whose side of things she was on when it came to the Salvatore brothers and the Mikaelsons.

However that didn't stop Damon and Stefan from pestering her about Elinor, and as much as she was angry and agreed that they were in the wrong she knew they were just worried so she was willing to give what little assurances she could.

"I'm not going to call her Dela" Damon said with a scowl, pouring himself a glass of bourbon.

"That's up to you, last I heard she was getting close to finding the wolf who Tyler's shacking up with. That's all I know so stop asking" Caroline said as she began setting up the drink table, a scowl across her face as she set down cheap bottles of liquor she had bought for the occasion.

"Well...If anyone is going to become the Original's experiment, it's nice to know it's her" Damon said after a few moments, not surprised their sister would hunt down the pack that hurt Caroline.

Had Damon known where to find the wolf bitch he would have done it himself, though more for his own bruised ego then for what they did to the teenage vampire.

"So did Saint Caroline use her evil vampire powers to get all that illegal alcohol?" Damon asked mockingly, wanting to get under the blonde's skin just like she did for him.

Caroline just hummed "Why yes, I use compulsion to get refreshments for my friends party while you use it to seduce highschool girls into your bed. I think i'm doing fine" her voice was dripping with superiority as she continued to set up for the party, ignoring Damon as they continued to trade jabs at one another.

"Remind me again why we all must traipse through the woods?" Rebekah asked as she swatted away another bug that had landed on her, thank the gods she couldn't sweat.

"Because Sister, I require werewolves and they can only be found in the worst of places" Klaus answered with an annoyed expression on his face, he was trying not to let the continuous complaints from his siblings get under his skin and he was failing spectacularly.

Rebekah rolled her eyes and went to respond but was beaten to it by Kol who almost knocked her off a literal cliff. She may have survived but it was an insult nonetheless.

"None of that explains why we must accompany you, why can't we remain at a nice hotel? Doesn't that sound much more pleasant Angel? We could even get room service, you can get whatever you want and I can have a tasty bellhop" Kol pleaded with Dela who was currently being carried on Finn's back as the only human.

Dela smiled fondly towards Kol, also secretly wishing they were somewhere more comfortable but unwilling to say it "We are here to support Nik, he's making more hybrids! Think of it as a family outing."

"Worst family outing ever! Kol I swear I will pull out your liver if you shove me one more time!" Rebekah hissed after Kol almost pushed her off another cliff.
