Elinor just sighed "I am sorry Jenna, I thought they would have told you by now but as their guardian and as a member of this town I feel you have the right to know the company your niece has been keeping and the role she has in the Supernatural community. I will not sugarcoat this, Vampires, Witches, and Werewolves are real and Elena has been dating one for months."

Jenna laughed, as if it was a joke but slowly her laugh faded as she realised Dela was serious, she looked between Dela and Elena, seeing the panicked look on her niece's face and felt a sinking in her gut.

"I can show you proof if you need it, but I don't think you do. I think it's all starting to make sense, the Salvatores coming to town so suddenly, their strange qualities, the way Elena seems to disappear and strange things have started happening" Dela said softly, watching as dawning horror overcame Jenna's face.

Dela liked Jenna, she had always been cool and helped her when it came to boy talk and anything else the older woman could give her advice on.

Jenna was strong, she had become a parent after her sister died, taking on responsibilities she never expected, she could handle knowing about the supernatural, especially if both the minors under her care were aware and very much involved in a world she knew nothing about.

Elena gaped, looking between Dela and Jenna with horror "No, Jenna don't listen to her, she's lying" Elena said as she shook her head, grabbing Jenna's arm but her aunt pulled away.

"No Elena, you've been lying. You think I haven't noticed it? I just...I thought it was you sneaking off with Stefan, or maybe even Damon but this..." Jenna said as she shook her head, turning to Elinor with a determined set to her shoulders.

"What is it exactly you want with my niece and why are you telling me this?" Jenna asked, crossing her arms over her chest as she narrowed her eyes. She may be angry at Elena but she wasn't stupid, something else was going on.

Dela smirked, she was proud of Jenna in a way, she certainly had more respect for the woman than Elena.

"This Elijah, and Klaus, both are originals. Meaning from the first family of vampires, Klaus here is actually a hybrid, part vampire and part Werewolf. His mother, the Witch who created Vampires placed a curse to repress his wolf side. The removal of this curse could only be done by a special ritual, the sacrifice of a vampire, werewolf, and most hard to find, a doppelganger on a full moon" Dela paused, seeing if Jenna was still following before continuing.

"A doppelganger is someone born of the exact same image of another, they are very rare supernatural creatures. Their blood is coveted as a powerful ingredient in witches spells and after the curse placed on Klaus it was coveted by the vampires and Werewolves as well. Not very convenient for Doppelgangers of course given they are human, their only supernatural quality being their blood and the fact they have the same body as another."

Dela could tell Jenna was processing what she was saying but was confused about what it had to do with her.

Dela raised a brow towards Elena, giving the girl a chance to tell her aunt the truth but she just stood frozen, a white knuckled grip on the doorway.

When no one spoke up Jenna ended the staring contest between Dela and Elena "That's a great history lesson but what does this have to do with us?" She asked, her nerves frayed already.

"Elena here is a Petrova Doppelganger, a descendant of the woman whose blood was used in both the spell to create vampires as well as the curse placed on Klaus. She would have been needed in a sacrifice but I found a way to get rid of the curse without needing to take any lives. It seems however that Elena's blood is needed to create more hybrids and as such I am here to leverage the fact I saved her life in order to come to an equitable arrangement for all of us."
