Chapter Forty One

Okay, so no one get's a mention because no one guessed Taylor's helper at the end of the last chapter...so bummer but here's chapter forty one.

Taylor's P.O.V

I lay there in the tour bus for what felt like years but was only a few hours, I felt totally lethargic, nothing could rouse me from my bed. People had flitted in and out all afternoon until Tree made an appearance almost two hours before the show was due to start. She sat down next to me and as I rolled onto my stomach to look at her, she reached out and rubbed my back. It was the sort of thing Karlie would do, not thinking about making me talk just being there to comfort me. I looked at Tree whose usual green eyes were dull today. "I have to get ready don't I?" I questioned as she looked at me and nodded. "You do." I nodded and she let me sit up. A pile of tissues fell to the ground. "Oh Taylor," she stated. I hung my head as I felt fresh tears well up. She said nothing more except drop her closed laptop onto the bed I just vacated and wrap her arms around me. The safety of the hug stopped the tears until the room was joined by my saving grace from earlier. "Is everything okay?" I looked up and saw the familiarity as I fell into arms which used to be much smaller growing up. Searching for warmth I nuzzled my face closer as Austin rubbed my back up and down, rhythmically like mom used to when we were kids. I moved my face to see Tree shake her head as Austin carefully walked me out to the living room of the tour bus and sat me down. "Austin, I have to go get..."
"Wait." He told me, I looked at his serious face and nodded. "Okay," he logged me onto Skype and we wait for the call to be answered. When a familiar face pops up in front of me I smile and lean in. "Hi," I state. Her gorgeous face looks back at me. "Hi baby," Then she looks away and I frown but she says. "Allie baby, mommy's on the screen." I don't hear anything and then Karlie looks at me. "Sorry, I'll go grab her wait a minute baby." I laugh as I see Austin and Tree smile and breathe a sigh of relief but I don't really care. Karlie comes back with Allie who takes one look at me and says "mum, mum" like a British child would but I don't care it sounds adorable. Karlie sighs down at Allie. "Baby, that's not what we practiced. Say mom." She takes one look at Karlie and goes "mama" and then looks at me "mum, mum". I laugh as Karlie sets Allie down. "I just thought you'd like to hear her speak before tonight. Austin and Tree may have called." I turn and look at them but they just shrug.
"We get it Taylor..." Austin states as I turn back to Karlie.

"I miss you Karlie." I state. "The bus is empty without you, rehearsals are empty and the dressing room is void of Allie's toys and things. I'm just having trouble." She nods and gestures to the apartment. "It's the same here, all our stuff is here but we are missing you. The main component of this family, you should have called me." I glance down as I mumble.
"I didn't want you to think that I'm weak."
"Taylor!" Karlie yells at me, making me look up and Austin jump. "I don't care what time it is, where you are or what I am doing. If you miss me, you call me. Understand?" I nod and Austin laughs. From there conversation flows until Tree says I have an hour. I smile at Karlie who is looking at me with love. "Only until the end of November." Karlie states.
"What?" I question.
"Allie and I are coming to Australia. You're turning twenty six, this is huge." I smile and nod remembering how we celebrated Karlie's here on tour during a three day holiday. "Okay, I'll call you later?" I question. She glares at me.
"You better. I want to tell my wife goodnight. Break a leg." I smile as Tree states.
"Okay that's for the bedroom, your brother in-law is here Karlie." I watch Karlie laugh before waving and ending the call. Standing I turn to Tree and Austin, "I'm ready. Let's do this."

Karlie's P.O.V

28 November 2015

I can't help but smile at the view in front of me. Taylor is holding Allie by the hands and dipping her feet in the water. Every time a wave comes in Allie shrieks and I laugh. Taylor has been at this for nearly half an hour and Allie still shrieks at the feel of a wave. I lie back and try to enjoy the insane Sydney weather at Bondi Beach. The noises begin to fade but come back as a shadow crosses my path. Glancing up at a soaking wet Taylor and giggling Allie I smile too. "We should go back," Taylor states I nod and she puts Allie down as we pack up the bag we brought down. I see a glimmer to my left and that's when Taylor's wedding ring really sparkles. Her engagement ring sits proudly in front of the wedding ring as before the Asia tour she came home and we went out and bought rings specifically for that purpose. We ended up custom designing each other's but agreed to use a platinum setting since neither one of us wore much gold jewellery. "What?" Taylor questioned looking at me. I shook my head, "nothing babe." She grunted and lifted Allie up off the sand before she ate it. I looked at them both and snapped a polaroid of them. While we walked towards the waiting SUV I watched it develop and all of a sudden a bright beautiful Bondi Beach day emerged with Taylor in her bikini and Allie in a tutu togs set that we found in a surf shop. I smiled as Taylor handed me Allie to bundle into her waiting car seat. We settled in the SUV before heading back to the hotel we were staying at.

Getting out of the car Taylor's phone began to ring. She took one look at it and answered it. "Hello," I had no idea who was on the other end but before I could ask Taylor fell to the ground and began to sob. I pause getting Allie out, who cranes her neck trying to see Taylor. Before Paul leaps over and gets Allie for me and our bags, I walk to Taylor and crouch down while she rocks back and forward saying. "Not now, god not now." Instantly my heart sinks and I know that even though we just had the perfect day at Bondi Beach. The next fourteen days will be a huge moment in our lives as a married couple. Taylor turns to me as Paul stops next to me with Allie. I hand him the key as he nods, understanding instantly what has happened. "Shush baby, we will be back in America soon. Where is she now?" Taylor's blue eyes meet mine as she wipes her rapidly falling tears only for them to be replaced. "Nashville." I say nothing except hug her and in time we move inside.
