"Yes. Yes, I'll go on a date with you," he muttered out, his shaky breath tickling my cheeks as he looked down at me. "It's set then. I'll talk to Jimin about our fake date, maybe instead of me, he can take Taehyung, or Namjoon." He nodded along at my words while following me out of my room and towards the living room, where Jimin was already boasting about the fake date. "Jimin, I need to talk to you about that," I said, gaining his attention and the attention of our surrounding members. "I'm not going to be able to go, I already agreed to spend some time with Hobi and his family, and I made some plans with some of my friends." he slowly nodded along at my words, but his ecstatic facial expression never left his face. "Don't worry about it, I'm glad you're making friends that aren't just us," he said, which made me feel less guilty about ditching our fake date. "Dinner Time!"
The first half of our free week was spent at Hobi's house with his family, and now it was time to get ready for the date. A gentle knock on my room door pulled me out of my panic for a second as I walked over and opened the door to see Jungkook standing there, his doe eyes looking down at me. "Wear something comfy, like pajamas. It's a date, but we're not actually going out," he explained before he pulled the door shut, and the sound of his muffled footsteps was heard walking away. I shrugged as I walked back to my closet and put on a warm hoodie with a pair of blue and white striped pajama shorts. "Okay, I'm ready! Can I come out now?" I shouted from inside my room, waiting for a response. "Yes, come out," Jungkook shouted back as his rapid running footsteps were heard running down the hallway towards the living room. I softly smiled as I opened my room door and walked out to see candles that dimly lit the hallway, along with pink and white rose petals scattered on the floor leading to the living room. I let out a barely audible gasp as I walked into the living room, where Jungkook was sitting on the couch with his hands folded in his lap. The couch was surrounded by rose petals and an abundance of pillows, blankets, and all of our favorite snacks. "I know it's not anything fancy, but I thought this would be an ideal date, it's more intimate and private." I looked around the room in pure awe. The candles, the petals, the snacks, and the effort put into the date were all just perfect. "I love it, Jungkook," I said in a breathy tone as I sat next to him on the couch. A smile grew on his face as he wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me closer to him. The simple gesture was enough for those butterflies to flutter around in my stomach. The smug smile never left his face as he pressed play on the remote, and as the movie played on, we only snuggled closer together and completely disregarded the array of snacks in front of us. Our legs were now tangled one over the other, with his head resting on mine. The perfect date.
"I'm glad we sort of started over," Jungkook whispered into my hair while the ending credits rolled. "Me too. But we do need to talk about our feelings." I could almost hear the whince that he let out subconsciously at the mention of feelings. "I'm not saying we rush anything, but just tell me what you feel. I can't keep going on dates and starting over with you and not know how you feel about me. I'm not going to force an answer out of you, but please...tell me something soon." He nodded at my words, his face slightly flushed as if he was trying to figure out what to say next. "I'm not good at this. I like you. I like you more than a friend, and I've been biting my tongue about it ever since you and Taehyung dated, and I wanted to tell you, but then Yugeom came along, and-" I couldn't help but cut him off by gently grabbing his shoulders and slightly shaking him. "You waited for a reason. I'm still not the best person I can be, and I probably won't be for a while, but I'm more mature now and ready for a relationship. You haven't asked me yet, and you might not, but if you do ask me out, just know I'm gonna say yes." His big doe eyes looked into mine, and a pure look of innocence and happiness flooded his eyes. "Are you asking me out? I imagined myself being the one to ask you out," I shook my head as a laugh escaped my lips. "No, I'm sorry, I'm not good with feelings, and I'm not gonna talk about this until you ask me out, or don't ask me out, no pressure," I babbled, furrowing my eyebrows while looking at him, trying to gauge a hint of what he was going to do next. "Don't worry, I am going to ask you, but I'm going to make it romantic and worth your time."
