First off, I want to apologize for the late chapter. This one in particular had me stumped and I went through quite the writer's block. (I honestly barely get writers block when writing this fic, so it came to me as a shock) Not only that, but last week, I went through some personal stuff that really made me drop my work. Let's just say I'm sorry for the sudden delay and I hope you all can forgive me for this. Anyways, getting to the the topic at hand, the devastating defeat of Pitch, Uta is walks out frustrated and in distressed. We will see how Uta will deal with this realization and break the news to the others. I don't own One Piece.

Uta sat on a bench waiting outside the med bay for the second time today. Uta lets out a loud sigh as she awaits the news of Pitch's status. Just then the doors open up and Knave walks out wiping her hands with a cloth. She then notices Uta in the side and was a bit surprised by her appearance.

"Knave! How's Pitch doing?" Uta asks, worriedly. "The medics said she was in critical condition when they found her! Is she doing alright?"

"Pitch took a lot of damage before fighting Ulti and after the battle against her sister, her body accumulated more damage than it could handle." Knave said, making Uta fear the worse. "Although she is stable now, she will need several days to recover."

Uta looks down and clenches her fist in anger, knowing that she is unable to do anything to help her recover. This was the outcome that Uta would never have wanted.

"I'm sorry that this loss weighs heavy on you, but you are not at fault for this." Knave said, realizing Uta's emotions. "Pitch fought knowing the consequences of losing."

"Yeah. I'm aware." Uta said, upset that Knave was speaking the obvious. "She's part of your crew now."

Now that Pitch lost, she is now affiliated with the Beast Pirates which means that she is no longer a member of her party. First it was Abell, then Gordon, and now Pitch. Those who started to follow her are slowly leaving her. What's worse is all that is stopping her from seeing her is Knave, someone who could easily fight toe to toe with her if she were to do something reckless.

"Am I allowed to see her?" Uta asks Knave, hopeful that she can no
get through without conflict.

"Of course." Knave said, stepping out of the way for Uta. "Pitch has her mouth bandaged and is unable to speak to you. Ulti is recovering in a different room so you don't have to worry about running into her by accident."

Uta thanked Knave with a nod and walked inside the room. When she saw Pitch lying on the cot wrapped from her mouth to her limbs on bandages and her left arm was slung. Seeing PitchM in such a state made Uta's heart sink. Uta hesitantly walks over to Pitch to see her sleeping soundly and is glad to see that she seems to be doing well. Suddenly, Pitch's eyes slowly flutter open, shocking Uta.

"Sorry, did I wake you?" Uta asks, giving her a warm smile. "You should try to rest, you know."

Her eyes turn to Uta showing great worry and sorrow. She then raises her hand and starts to trace her finger on her bed.

"I know that your loss is going to set us back, but whether you win or lose, it will be fine." Uta said, reassuring Pitch. "It won't affect our goals and you know that."

Pitch slowly nods and traces something else for which Uta reads carefully.

"Yeah, I am planning on heading back to Wano." Uta said, answering Pitch's question. "Pitch and Echo are waiting for us and we need to exchange information."

Pitch nods in understanding and traces once more. Uta lets out a sigh when she reads it and ponders for a moment.

"I'll just tell them that you're going to spend some time with your family and won't be joining us for a while."
