Chapter 67: Heartache

Before we begin this chapter, I want to make it clear that there has been a moment in this arc that I have rushed without paying attention to what it could lead to in the future.

That moment was when I was explaining Hare's abilities and capabilities. I didn't seem to be paying enough attention, and left out crucial details. But, instead of going back and fixing it, I have decided to keep it in as to further progress the plot of this specific chapter.

Now, in regards to that, here is the full list of abilities that Hare can access through her Burst Skill - WASTESHREDDER

Unstable Eye: -''The embodiment of mental collapse. I'll break you, without even laying a single finger on you.''- If Hare manages to get within a 100 meter radius to their target, a connection will be made with their NIMPH. From then on, if Hare manages to stay close to them, they will experience a reality beyond their comprehension.

Moments which never happened, voices that never spoke, this is the bread and butter of Hare's kit. Control over what her opponent sees, hears, and feels. If this ability is used in a cruel and unseemly manner, without the victim ever knowing that which they're experiencing is not real, it would lead to a Mind Switch.

However, if the victim does not possess NIMPH, this ability becomes useless. Back then, there were no cases of Nikkes without the addition of the NIMPH, so it wasn't accounted for. Hare also possesses the ability to read the victim's mind, so long as this ability is active.

The single drawback of Unstable Eye is that Hare has to constantly keep their gaze locked on their enemy. If she were to look away for a single moment, the immersion would be broken, putting the ability on a cooling stage in which she cannot access it for a given amount of time.

Natural Malevolence: -''Attack me and see what happens, I dare you, I DOUBLE DARE YOU!''- A passive which forces Raptures of all kinds to be unable to attack Hare. This could also work on Heretics, though it is mostly induced by fear of Hare's position and prowess.

Clarion Call: -''Oh man, I really don't feel like fighting right now. Chatterbox, go get 'em for me.''- Imitating the calling of a Tyrant-class, Hare is able to summon backup everywhere she goes, so long as there are Raptures that are able to hear her. From Servants to even Heretics, including the Queen herself if need be.

Corrosive: -''Thankfully, I'm feeling generous today, so you're becoming fodder for the next time I'm fighting.''- A big reason for why her teeth and nails are so sharp and unbreakable, is due to the ability to infect through them. Corruption Code runs through the tips of both surfaces, and if it ever manages to inject itself into a Nikke, they have from a few minutes to under a day of free will before succumbing to Corruption.

Kotodama: -''KILL YOURSELF...! Eh? That didn't work? This thing sucks.''- The latest addition to Hare's kit, only added after the discovery of Vapaus. It allows for Hare to control her target with her voice, only to an extent that isn't extensively fatal. With that said, the way this could be countered is if the target goes deaf. Indication of this ability activating is a thorny rose appearing on Hare's tongue, giving them enough time to either cover, or blow their ears off.
