•Maddie's POV•

Jen pulls up to a sign that reads Drop Off and parks the car.

"Are you sure you don't want me to come?" She asks, turning towards me. "At least for your first day?"

I smile, "No." I look out the window and back at her, "I can do it."

Today is my first day on set of Camp Bully. I will be out of school for a few weeks to film so me and all my other co-stars will be tutored while on set.

Jen's face softens.

"What?" I ask.

She sighs and laughs a little, "You've grown up so much these past few months."

I giggle, "I don't know what I'm really supposed to say to that."

She smiles, "I can't believe you're almost twelve."

"Me either."

In only a few days, it will be twelve years that I have been alive. And twelve years since I almost died.

"Are you excited for your party?" Jen asks excitedly.

We planned a party a few weeks ago. It's this Saturday, on my birthday, and basically everyone I know is invited. Even my new cast. Brianna is coming and I can't wait for her to meet Willow. She is a huge fan, so I made her promise she wouldn't fangirl. And of course Romeo will be there too.

We're interrupted by a man knocking on my window.

"You aren't allowed to park here ma'am." His heavy southern accent was surprisingly clear through the thick glass window.

Jen bites her lip, "Sorry." She kisses my forehead, "I'm going to meet with Mr. Rick. Have fun."

Mr. Rick is a private investigator Jen hired about a week ago to find my birth mom. After talking about it with Jen, I want to meet her. Only meet her, ask her questions--that's it. After that we can both forget about each other and move on.

I think it will be good for me and maybe in a way will help this whole abortion thing be apart of my past.

After I show a guard my All Access pass, I am escorted to a trailer with a TV and a couch, which I'm assuming also pulls out into a bed.

I find a bright yellow piece of paper on a small table next to an empty mini fridge.

On the paper is my schedule for the day.

In five minutes I'm supposed to be at hair and make up.

I make a guess where hair and make up is and start to head that way. I look down at my phone for a second when I run into a guy, about my age, drinking some coffee.

I say sorry, without looking up.

"Maddie?" He asks and smiles, "I'm Kace."

I look up at the sound of my name.

"I know." I say, then mentally slap myself. "I mean--Hi, nice to meet you."
