••Maddie's POV••
I made the soccer team.
I am now officially "A Ridgewood Soccer Player."
I was so nervous about tryouts, but I had gotten pretty good with Romeo's help over the past couple of weeks.
The first person I called to share the news with was Jen, but she didn't answer, so then I called Romeo.
He was so happy for me and told me that we should celebrate. He invited me over to his house and we had ice cream. I even got to talk to his mom, who is always out and about, busy with her job too.
The dance isn't that far away, only a few weeks to be exact.
I have no clue what I'm going to wear. I really wanted to go shopping for a new dress with Jen, but she won't be here for a while.
Filming has finished, but now the whole cast has interviews to go to, which will be exhausting for all of them. It's not as many interviews they have before the premiere, but it's still quite hectic. Luckily since Willow's role isn't as big, she gets to stay in town.
Jen and I haven't really talked in a while, now that I have a busy schedule too. We mainly just text.
Brianna and I are almost done with our art project. The rules are, it has to be a sculpture made out of newspaper. It turns out, Brianna is a huge fan of The Hunger Games as am I, so we're making a Mockingjay.
All we need to do is finish painting it. We decided to use red, orange, and yellow paint, so that it will resemble fire. She's coming over soon to work on it and I'm kinda nervous, because she's the first person I've had over, besides Willow.
Over the past few weeks, I'm finding that Brianna isn't as rude as I thought she was.
We even bonded over our love for the Shaytards. They're a blogging family on YouTube and they're awesome. I found them one day while I was watching random videos.
"Maddie, Brianna's here!" Karen calls from the kitchen.
I run to the front door, "Hey, come on in." Brianna steps inside and smiles at Karen, who has now joined us at the door.
She reaches out her hand, "Hi, I'm Brianna."
"Nice to meet you." Karen says, shaking her hand. "My name is Karen." She hesitates a little, "Why don't you girls work in the dining room. Do you have all the supplies you need? I could run to the store in case--I mean if you need anything. Do you? Need anything--I mean--"
I cut her off, "We have everything, but thanks."
"Okay, well if you girls have all you need..." She motions towards her bedroom.
I nod my head and she leaves.
"Sorry," I roll my eyes, "Karen can get a little..."
"Chatty?" Brianna laughs, "My grandma is the same way."
I smile and we walk towards the dining room.
"I already set everything up." I take a seat, "We only have to finish painting--right?"
She nods her head.
After a few minutes of painting in silence, she speaks up.
"I heard you made the girls soccer team, congrats."
"Thanks." I stop painting to look at her, "Where did you hear that at?"
"Uh," she hesitates, "Sabrina told me."
