••Jen's POV••
"Hey babe." Josh comes up from behind me and wraps his arms around my neck. I jump a little, then I kiss his lips.
We are at the set, on break. I haven't really talked to Josh today, mainly because I woke up late and rushed here as soon as possible. I was late for hair and make up, which takes extra long for me, because I have a wig and all. Right now is the only time I've actually been able to relax a little. And I'm wet, because we're doing a lot of water scenes today.
I give him a warm smile, "Hey." I turn around towards him and bury my face in his chest, wanting to stay like this forever.
He clears his throat, "Have you talked to Maddie?"
The words catch me off guard, but I've been thinking about them all morning.
I pull away, "No. I don't think she really wants to talk to me right now." I say, forcing a smile.
We sit down in the sand.
Josh knows all about what happened last night. He came in my suite right after I got off the phone with Maddie. I was a mess. I felt so bad, because I couldn't believe she actually felt that way. I miss her like crazy and I wish I could be there with her, but she has to have her education. I want her to live a normal life as much as possible.
He sighs, "You need to talk to her sooner or later, Jen."
"I choose later." I force another smile, "Besides she's at school."
I really don't feel like talking to her, it hurts me to say that, but it's true. It's not that I'm mad at her, because I'm not. I'm just hurt and I need time. I'll call her later, to ask her about her first day. But I'm not necessarily looking forward to hearing her disappointed voice when I tell her that I'll see her soon. Because I know it won't be soon enough.
I decide to change the subject, "We have a kissing scene coming up." I feel the corners of my mouth turn upwards.
Josh raises his eyebrows, "Wanna practice?"
I giggle as my lips meet Josh's.
••Maddie's POV••
Finally, after what seems like forever, the lunch bell rings.
I follow the crowd into a large cafeteria. I wasn't really hungry so I bought a bag of chips from the vending machine. Luckily I stashed a few extra dollars in my backpack, because the machine didn't take twenties.
After I got my bag of chips, I debated finding a seat or eating in the bathroom. Yeah, I know gross, but it beats having to find a seat. The cafeteria is the worst place for a new kid to be.
All the different groups and people. It's terrible. Plus everybody is looking at me like I'm from another planet.
I find myself walking down the isles, to a small, empty table in the back. It's circular, while all the other tables are rectangular.
I'm not that hungry, but I open my bag of potato chips anyways.
"Maddie?" I hear a familiar voice break through the silence around me.
I look up to see the boy with brown eyes and tan skin, "Romeo?"
"What are you doing here?" He asks.
"Uh--today's my first day." I look up, confused, "Do you go here?"
He smiles, "Yeah." He sets down his tray full of cafeteria food and sits beside me.
A few tables down, some kids call his name. I look more closely. The girl dressed in pink--well the girls dressed in pink--all three of them are seated at the table with a couple other guys.
