••MADDIE'S P.O.V.••
We've been on the road for several minutes and we haven't really talked. Jennifer-or well Jen, is singing quietly along with the radio.

I looked at Jen. On the TV screen and magazines she's really pretty, but in person she's gorgeous!

She looks over at me and smiles, shyly I turn to the window. All I see is traffic.

"Oh, Airports always have traffic at this time. It's annoying, but it's life." She laughed a bit and then turned off the radio. "Hey! I have an idea..lets play 20 questions! Have you ever played?"
I nodded my head yes, and leaned towards her.

"Can I go first?" I ask, suddenly not that shy anymore.

"Yeah, ask away. " She smiled, again.

I thought about how she's always been my idol, and then asked her the question I really wanted to know.

"What's it like..being an actress and all?" I smiled, because it was hard to stop myself.

"It's fun! I love meeting new people! Getting to be apart of different casts is a great experience." She looked at me and said, "Are you into acting?"

"Me?" I looked back, "I guess I never really thought about it before. "

"I could give you tips and stuff if you'd like? It would be fun!" She looked genuinely happy.
I could get used to this. For so long I felt like I would never really, truly be happy. Looking at Jen, I know it's possible.

Walking into the airport was so overwhelming. Jen had put her hat and glasses back on, but that didn't stop the paparazzi from snapping her picture. Interviewers were asking her about her latest movie, Catching Fire. Of course she ignored them, and put her arm around my shoulder.

After we went through security, the paparazzi died down and only some people came up to her, asking for a picture, or an autograph. She happily said yes, and was always friendly. Such a good role model, I thought.

An intercom voice called for California blah, blah, blah. I don't know, I wasn't really paying that close attention.

"Maddie, that's us. Let's go. " Jen grabbed my hand and pulled me towards the boarding doors.

Once we were settled on the plane, I noticed that this wasn't just a regular plane.

"Hey, um Jen?" I said quietly, not wanting to disturb any other passengers who were getting ready for take-off.

"Yeah?" She replied.

"Since when did planes, get so nice?" I didn't get it, every plane I have ever ridden on was not even close to being this fancy.

She laughed. Yes, actual laughing. Then she said with a twinkle in her eye, "This is first class Madds-" she widened her eyes, "is it alright if I call you that?"

"Yeah. " I smiled, this is the first time someone has ever called me something other than Madison or Maddie.

I looked around again, first class. Suddenly I felt way to underdressed. Even Jen was wearing designer clothes.

"Please fasten your seat belts and prepare for take-off. " A flight attendant announced, as the seat belt light came on.

Finally, we're in the air and going steady. It's crazy to think I'm moving to California. I mean I've lived in foster homes all over the U.S., but this is different. This time I will actually have a home.

"Maddie...Madison." I open my eyes and look around. "We're about to land, put your seat belt back on. Okay?" Jen was clicking hers into place, so I followed.

"Jennifer! Jennifer, over here!" Everywhere I looked I was blinded by the flashes of dozens of cameras.

I must've looked terrified, because Jen brought me closer to her and she picked up my suit case by the side handle.

Once we got inside her car, which was super nice, by the way, she apologized for the paparazzi.

"You hungry? Whatever you want we can get it." Jen said as she turned the radio on. "Can't blame a girl for try-in!" Jen blasted.

We bust out laughing and continue to laugh for a minute or so.

"Can we get Chick-Fil-A?" I asked a minute later, realizing how hungry I was.

"Great idea, we'll eat at home. "

***
"Here we go. "Jen parks the car at a beautiful two story, white stone house, with red shutters.

"Wow. " I manage to say..I have to say something, don't I?

"Here, let's go inside. " She says, as she unlocks the door. I step inside and loose my breath.

Beautiful decorations on the walls, a huge open living room, dining room, and kitchen with granite counter tops come into view. Not only that, but accents of green are spread throughout the bottom floor. I look to my left and notice some very modern wooden steps.

"Here, I'll show you the upstairs now. " She walks up the steps, with me close behind.

There's a hallway with white french doors on both ends, Jen leads us into the one on the right.

She opens the doors as I take it all in. Her room has white walls and white furniture, including a love seat across from a 60 inch tv. Her bed comforter is a light, sea green color. I see another door on the left which is probably her bathroom. Her closet door is open and I see all her racks and racks of designer clothing.

"Your closet is as big as a regular room!" I exclaim, still in shock.

She laughs as she leads me to the other set of french doors saying, "This will be your room, as soon as we move you in. I didn't want to decorate it, because I thought it would be fun for us to do it together. "

I look around at a room that is almost identical to the one I just saw.

"There's no bed, so you'll have to sleep in my room, with me, until we decorate. Is that alright with you?" Jen says as I nod my head yes. She looked pleased. "Tomorrow we can look for stuff online."

9:34 p.m.
After we ate, I yawned and realized how tired I was. After all I had just rode on a plane for seven hours.

"Um..what's the hour delay?" I looked up at Jen who was cleaning the counter.

"About a two hour difference--oh my gosh! You should probably go to sleep now so you aren't as tired in the morning. I'll be up in a few minutes. "

I trudge up the nice steps and walk into my bare bathroom, where my suitcase is. I decide to wait and take a shower in the morning as I change into the purple basketball shorts I've had for a while and a black t-shirt.

I walk into Jens bedroom, where her huge queen size bed is. I lay down and instantly feel fatigue take over.

••JENS P.O.V.••
I walk into my bedroom to find Maddie sleeping
soundlessly in my bed. I smile as I silently join her.

I stare at her in the dark, memorizing every little feature and detail of her small face. I glance down and see her left arm. I can't even imagine what she's been through.
