••Maddie's POV••
"Maddie," Jennifer's manager looks at me, dead in the eyes, "go out there and tell the truth, okay?"
I nod my head and clear my throat.
Jen and I are escorted onto a small stage where a table and a few chairs are set up at.
We take our seats, with one security guard on each end of the table. I look around and see other security guards throughout the room.
"Hello, my name is Chloe Batson and I'm Jennifer's," she gestures behind her, "manager. Now some accusations have been made towards Jen and her adopted daughter, but they're not true. Here's the story, after we hear what really happened, they will answer some questions. "
Jen starts off by saying, her and Josh had been seeing each other and when she came to drop me off at his house, she caught him cheating--she didn't mention who with though. She said that she did indeed slap him, but that was the only physical contact that was made.
I added in that there was no cussing and backed up everything Jen had said.
"Questions?" Jen asked looking through the audience. Hands shot into the air. Jen points to a woman in a pantsuit.
"Uh, yes so you did not say that Josh was a (very, very bad word that I will not repeat, because Jen would probably kill me)?"
"Watch your mouth! My child is right here. " Jen glares at the women. "Of course I didn't say that."
"Will you give us a name of the women you caught Josh with?" A man asks after Jen points to him.
"That's not my business to share, if Josh would like to make it public then you need to go find him. " Jen states calmly, but I know on the inside, this is killing her.
Many more questions were asked clarifying that Jen and I were telling the truth.
"Last question. " Jen pointed to a man with a baby blue tie.
"This one is for Maddie," he flashes a handsome smile, "I understand, Maddie, that you've had to undergo a lot of things in the past eleven and a half years you've been on this earth." He pauses and looks around, "Are you mad?"
"Mad?" I asked, confused, "Mad at who?"
"Why your biological mother, of course. " He replies, putting his hand on his chin, a signature guy move.
Jen speaks up, "This has nothing to do with why we're here. " She stands, "We're leaving. "
Jen grabs my arm and drags me off the stage into a side room. She pulls the door open and we hear what sounded like the man yell, "I know who your real mother is!"
Jen shuts the door and looks at me. "Don't listen to him. He's just trying to get in your head. "
I nod.
Is he? Is he really? Or does he actually know who my biological mother is. He can't. Right?
Then the most terrifying question came to my mind.
But what if he does?

It's been a few hours since the press conference and I can't think clearly. I turn on the tv to a gossip channel and listen to what is being said.
After a few minutes I'm tired of it, so I stop listening and turn it off.
Evidently most people are on "Jens side", but they're a few who are siding with Josh. Which I don't get. Why would people side with Josh?
