••Maddie's POV••
I open my eyes to see Jen holding me in the same position we were in last night.
She looks so happy when she sleeps. Peaceful and just plain beautiful.
I frowned.
I feel sad.
I mean, that dream I had.
Does it mean something?
Was that reporter being honest when he said that he knew my biological mother?
Does Jen know what he said?
Is that what made me have that seizure--him telling me my biological mother wanted to see me?
Does he really know her?
Why would she want to see me if she didn't want me?
Why would she want to see me if she tried to kill me?
After a few minutes, Jen moves her head and looks into my eyes, "Good morning."
"Morning." I attempt at a smile.
The same nurse from yesterday comes in and puts some more packages of crackers and some apple juice on the tray.
I tell her thank you as she closes the door behind her.
"Dr. Nala told me a bunch of 'celebrities' were in the waiting room." I looked up at Jen. "I want to see them."
She cracked a smile--and looked like her old self, not the overprotective, worried mother I've been seeing for the past month. "Yeah, you wouldn't believe it." She stood, "I'll go ask and see if you can have a few visitors." She winked.
After a few minutes, Josh poked his head in, "Hey, having fun?"
I laughed, "Yeah, it's better than sitting at home." I said sarcastically.
He walked in and I saw the bouquet of roses.
"Josh," He handed them to me, "Thank you."
I saw him blush a little, "I'm sorry this is happening, Maddie."
I shook my head, "No. It's okay--I don't wanna talk about it."
He nodded his head, "Okay, what do you want to talk about?"
"Jen," I blurted, "I know she's worried about me."
He put hand on mine, "We all are."
"Don't." I sighed, "I don't want anybody to worry. I'll be fine. This isn't going to stop me from doing what I love." I spoke a little quieter, "This isn't going to change anything."
I knew that things were going to change, tremendously, but Josh didn't object.
"I love you Maddie." He bent down and kissed my forehead, then he left the room.
I wonder who else is here.
My thoughts were interrupted when Jen came in with Karen, an older man, and two other young men.
"Maddie," she smiled, "I want you to meet my dad, Gary," she pointed to the older man, "my brothers, Ben and Blaine," she pointed to each, "and you've already met my mom, Karen."
They all said hello and I kindly said hi back, but I was to shy to say anything further than that.
After a few awkward minutes of small talk, they went back to the waiting room.
Jen stayed in the room, "There's a special someone in the waiting room who has been here for quite a while." She cocked a smile, "Shall I send the person who shall not be named in?"
