Annabeth's POV
My day started out just fine. Hair was looking good, make up looking perfect and my outfit was that perfect blend of casual but not sloppy. I was looking good. The wind was pretty much non existent and the sky was clear of any black clouds that threatened to spill over and ruin my hard work. I walked to school quickly, hoping to get there before that idiot boy made an appearance. My friends were already stood, chilling by my locker. I glanced around before sighing in relief at the lack of black haired, green eyed boys that ruined my day.
We'd been stood chatting for about 10 minutes, to be perfectly honest I wasn't really interested at all about what they were saying. It was dull and juvenile and some of it made me question my faith in humanity. At that moment in time, they were talking about the best brand of hair dye to use to get the most realistic blonde. I wondered if any of them used the brands they were discussing as most of them had bright white hair with dark roots that barely passed as blonde, let alone a natural blonde. The conversation quickly changed to bitching about a girl in our math class. Her name was Patty something or other and lets just say, she didn't fit in. She was short and plump with impossibly frizzy brown hair that was often greasy. I didn't consider myself a huge bitch but I did enjoy talking about other people from our school, it always made me feel much better about myself. I decided to join in this conversation.
"Guys, did you see her at lunch yesterday? Oh my gods it was actually hilarious, as if she thought she could pull off that top. And the fact she tried to sit on the same table as us? Unreal." I laughed and felt a shot of pride as all my friends laughed at what I'd said, it was nice to be thought of as funny.
But, my happiness was cut short. Cut short by a boy with raven hair, glaring at me from under his hood. Of course, he had heard me bitching. But I didn't care, I mean I wasn't really hurting anyone.
                              Percy's POV
Of course she was bitching, when wasn't she? It bothered me though that the particular girl they were talking about, Patty Goodwin, had been stood about a two feet away from them and had clearly heard everything said about her. She blinked rapidly, trying to get rid of the tears that threatened to spill over and onto her cheeks. Gods, they were bitches. I sent Annabeth and her group my best death glare and continued on to my locker which just so happened to be right next to Annabeth's. Oh lucky me.
Honestly, I think a lot of the guys envied me. I mean sure, Annabeth could be considered pretty with her blonde curls, slim body and tanned skin. But her personality was just the worst, not to mention it was kind of a known thing that her hair colour was peroxide, her curls were definitely not natural and her 'natural' tan came from a bottle. In fact, the only thing I liked about Annabeth was her eyes. They were stormy grey and seemed to show a glimmer of intelligence, though proof of the intelligence was yet to be seen. I personally liked them because they didn't fit in with the rest of her looks, which largely included too much make up, stupidly short skirts and dangerously high heels. But her eyes were awesome, they changed from a light almost silver colour to a dark, brooding, storm cloud grey depending on her mood. The second she saw me, her eyes changed to practically black.
"Oh look, its Prissy." The life sized barbies giggled grotesquely at this.
I rolled my eyes at the weak attempt at humour and turned my back on them as I opened my locker to drop off my bag. As some added safety, I plugged in my earphones and tried to block out the pathetic conversation going on behind me. Unfortunately, a few sentences still got through.
"Okay, so maybe he's a little dark and brooding but that's so hot!"
                              Another round of giggling.
"Meh, I wouldn't kick him out of bed."
I shuddered at both the screeches coming from the girls and the thought of being in bed with any one of them. Ew, it was painful to think about.
"Yeah but I heard he's gay, Ethan told me that Vi told him that she saw a guy with black hair kissing a guy with blonde hair."
At that I sniggered. Seriously, some of the rumours I swore were pure bullshit. Most of them could be originated from the mind of Ethan, a pathetic boy who desperately made up rumours to become friends with the so called 'populars'. I kind of pitied him.
I was trying to tune out their conversation when a pair of hands pulled the earbuds from my ears and whispered, "You should give me a call when you stop being so depressed all the time, Perce. I'm sure we could have a great time."
I rolled my eyes and turned to see Drew, another one from Annaberh's posse. She had dark brown hair and chocolaty eyes but her face was permanently stuck in a cruel smirk. It made her good looks vanish.
"Look, I'll say this again, Drew, as you clearly aren't getting it. I will give you a call when Tartarus freezes over and you contribute something to the human race. Okay?" I repeated the same thing I'd said every time she talked to me. It was seriously boring by now. Smiling to myself at my amazing humour, I wandered off to class.
~Hey, so nothing really happened in this bit but still hope you guys enjoyed it.
