I've come to realize a few things over this short period of my best friend's birthday weekend:

1. People move on. Nobody stays in the same place, mentally, physically, or emotionally, for the rest of their life. Things will go from bad to good to bad again before they get good again! Change isn't a bad thing though.

2. Family isn't just about blood & friendship isn't something that should go unappreciated. People need to wake up and realize that not everybody is perfect and you can't always choose your family. Some of the best people I know, and would most likely risk my health and happiness for, are the ones that don't carry the same DNA as me. They're are my brothers and sisters and they hold true to that title. Some of my brothers and sisters would go so far for my happiness. I try to take the time to appreciate that as much as possible, because one day you won't have them anymore and they'll never know just how much you love them. We have to show our family that we see them and all that they do for us and that they are most definitely being appreciated for it.

3. You don't have to be perfect to feel good. When it's time to take a long hard look at yourself, and you don't like what you see, also take the time to look at all of those around you. Don't compare, but just look. They aren't perfect either. You might have to really look hard, but it's there. The flaws are there. And they are just as beautiful on others as they are on you. So go out an live a little. Dance and sing and dance and fall and dance some more! Do whatever it is that you need to do to see yourself smile more. Because when you have that mirror in front of you and their is this beautifully flawed piece of art in front of you, smiling, then you'll know what I'm talking about. You'll see that it's okay to do and be as happy as others. Just because you are different doesn't mean that you don't deserve to smile and have fun just like everyone else.

4. Don't drink alcohol with your ex if you're bipolar or else you might wake up and see their unusually fucked up face laying in the middle of the floor, snoring, drooling, & moaning about the sex life you never gave them. Lesson learned.
