The test was harder then what I had imagined. Nyen could see me struggle. She tried to help with some of the questions but none of them made sense. I suddenly felt a cold feeling run down my spine. I turned around to be faced with 10 other heads peaking at my paper. All from the Leaf.

Figures.

I glared at them and covered my paper. I looked at the teacher but he was fast asleep at the table. His feet propped on the table and drool leaking from his mouth.

No use. I kept on working on my paper. 40 minutes wasn’t enough for me to get most of the answers but I got most of them. One got me really stuck. It asked me what the 4th Hokage’s famous justu was. I knew there were several. Rasengen and his transportation justu. Dad told me that long ago. I put both down.

The timer went off. I was done. Nyen yawned. Her head lay on the desk. I giggled as I looked around the room. Seru looked calm and collective as he normally does. He caught my eyes and I looked away.

“You like him don’t you?” Nyen asked.

“What?! No. Never. We’er just friends is all. We trained together when we were little. He left for 4 years and he just got back.” I replied, hesitant.

“I know that kid. Seru is it? Oh yes I remember that trouble maker. He came to visit a while back, causing so much ruckus in the market. Chickens can fly!”I laughed.

“No laughing!” The teacher said. The whole classroom looked at me. I blushed embarrassed. “Now, It will take some time for this class to be graded. In the meantime, get some lunch and then come back. You’re scores will be posted in the training room. If you pass you move to step 2 the Survival. Tomorrow there will be a meeting and the Hokage will put you in groups of three. All right get out!”

The screeching of chairs and the rustle of feet echoed around the class room. Nyen walked beside me as we stormed out of the class room. I was glad to be rid of that place. Then I saw him, Seru. He was waiting for me.

“Hey, Kushina, want to eat some Ichiraku’s with us?”

“Sure.”

“It’ll be good to get caught up with you. Its been so long.”

“Yea.” I didn’t know what to say to him. He was so strange to me but yet he was my friend.
